something you should keep in mind is that newer cars are made at a higher tolerence then the cars in the 70's and 80's
the "break-in" period is actually shorter then you think. i would say its about 500 miles, personally i would use 1,000 miles just to be sure. so to answer your car, time to touch the red on the tach

True dat, hold on when you DO decide to redline. I'd say go for it, I held out an amazing 600 or so miles before revving it past 3k but now I just LOVE the way it pulls past 4k....amazing! Enjoy it and get ready to shift really fast cause otherwise talk about a nose dive.
actually when i test drove the 03 maxima at the local dealership i was really laying into it, redlining at 1st and second. got to love when you get a kid salesman and he tells you "dont be afriad to open it up"
