The clears are legal in MOST states. The bulbs on the other hand are where you might be in trouble. Most cops won't care until they pull you over and your a ***** to them. Best but if you have bad cops in the area, get the clears and then get Orange and Red LED bulbs for them. I hear they work the best. I have HyperWhites in mine and have never had a problem.

the fronts come with bulbs, the backs do not. You can reuse the stock ones but you dont want to. Get hyperwhites or LED's, type 194. As for the legality, check your state, usually illegal but its such a minor mod that I dont think people get a lot of crap for it. Also, just a suggestion, check www.custommaxima.com for things like this.

I bought mine and the bulb was included in the front ones. In the rear you remove the bulb and assembly and put it into the new housing. It's a simple twist and snap.

And as JB mentioned, LEDs are superior to colored incandesents. The "red" bulbs are really pink. But you can find the bulb (colored) nearly everywhere, wal-mart, auto stores, etc. It is a 194 wedge.

Make sure it is a good bulb or the paint will chip off.

Red Bulbs!

You might want to try Pep-boys, in their after-market section. i bought a set of red bulbs there and they have the same color as the Polargs... pink during the day, almost red at night. i had the Polargs first and picked these up just out of curiosity.

i've had them for 4 months now and no chipping of the paint, and they were like $3.99/pr.

some people just decide to put their stock rear markers back in after trying different combinations of lights.

good luck in your choice.

That sounds like a good idea and then get some custom side bkinkers like the BMW 745. They are shaped just right and would look good on our Maxima.

in the great state of new jersey your are allowed to use white, orange (amber) or red lights. the only thing you have to be worried about is passing inspection, if there is a DOT/SAE stamp somewhere on the light then your ok, otherwise its not legal. so when you go for your inspection take it off or you will fail.

I should be receiving my order from Southwest in a day or two. I bought the Polarg red bulbs from them when I ordered the clear corners. (no bulbs included with the rears) I'm hoping the amber ones that come with the front corners will be ok. They carry a lot of smaller items like bulbs, that are not listed on the website. You can ask about these parts if you call them.

I thought about custom side blinkers after a co-worker put some on his solara. but i'm still not sold on them.

It might look sweeeet, but then again it might be just one too many lights/markers on the sides.

On country roads, someone might mistake me for a low flying aircraft.

Re: Re: Red Bulbs!

The lens that come in our front/rear bumpers are actually nissan's version of side markers, if your eva read the maxima book that the dealer gives you when checking out the max. Putting 745il or any other car side markers would actually in my eyes make the max look dumb...no offense to your idea perrymaxima.

no problems w/ it coming out at high speeds. the best advice is to put silicon around the edges prior to install to prevent moisture.

haha I read the same thread. You have to bolt them on from coming off..that's what they said.

You don't have to worry about this, that was in the 4th gen forums.
