Please help me pick new rims

Well I just ordered some new rims today. I already had 18" Mille Miglia Spiders, however last night on my way home the state was milling the highway, and decided not to place a sign indicating the huge bump in the road (hit at 35 mph)..well you can guess what happened..bye bye rim. Nothing better than being stuck in the middle of the sticks, no street lights, trying to put on a donut spare. Now normally I would not be ****ed, however this is the third time these rims have bent. I don't think these rims are of a good design. Anyway I ordered new BBS RK rims. Here is the link to the tirerack website. I told them the problems I have been having, and they even took almost $100 off per rim...so in the end it should all be ok, although I am out almost another $1000. Let me know what you think of the new rims.

Edit: read last post and please enter opinions

How did you get them to take $100 off per rim? Did you buy your previous rims there?

Those should look real nice, much better than the Spiders IMO. Post some pics when they arrive!

I promise to post pics of the new rims and the cross drilled rotors when I get them (hopefully pics taken Sunday at track). As far as the discount, I had bought the spiders there, and had such bad luck they hooked me up. It isn't the first time they have helped me out either..they are awesome in cust. service dept.

Hey man, I see that you've done a lot of work on your car. I was just wondering approximately how much you've put into it? Of course you don't have to answer if you don't want to.

I like the BBS RK, I thought about getting the polished RK, but they were 18x7.5 and I wanted 18x8. I just got the BBS CH's and I'm putting them on today. I will post pics once I'm finished

well I got the rims today, however we might have a problem..The tires from my old rims are 235/40/18. According to Tirerack, this is the recommended size for a 18 X 7.5 rim. However according to tire & rim assoc. specs, the minimum acceptable width for a 235/40/18 is 8" (thanks y2kse). I think tirerack dropped the ball here on this one. I am awaiting a call back form my salesperson to hear what he has to say on the issue.

P.S. please do not turn this into another flaming tire/rim size thread, I am merely updating the story, and invite locking/deletion if this gets into a flame war.

Edit: I just talked to him, he agreed they are out of spec, and he is going to talk to someone tomorrow about the application.

You've definitely got Tirerack.com by the short hairs. Let us know what happens.

Ok so the rims I got won't work with the tires, so I have to send them back. However now I need a new set of rims. I have been searching for 2 days, and have seen so many rims, I can't even form an opinion anymore. So I turn to you guys for opinions on what wheels to get. Here are the criteria:

1) Have to be 18X8 or 18X8.5, NO EXCEPTIONS.
2) Have to be polished or silver, no chrome, no colors
3) Have ro stay under $300 per wheel, however I will go a little higher if I really like them.

I turn to you guys/girls for help..please help me, and see my website for pics of the car if necessary.

Personally, I'm a fan of silver or gunmetal with a machined lip. Chrome absolutly sucks.

Did you see these?? I love these ones, but they already have tires.

Are you still getting almost $100 of per rim at TireRack? If so, I would get the AT Italia Inox or AT Italia Flash. Slim pickens!

Konig Appeals, 18x8.5 or 18.8..... and this rim has the best machines lip. I wanted to get Enkei RPOM, but it only goes up to 7 inches on width.....

Well I made my decision today, I went with ADR Sterlings. I was between those and Racing Hart C5's, but since the C5's don't come in 8", I went with the ADR's. I have posted a link to them here.
