question about the door trim....need help

question about the door trim....need help

did anyone ever damage their door trims when removing them...??
they are pretty hard to take off...and i'm afraid of pulling them too hard...what if i do break them..??..can i buy new ones from the dealer..?? and how much?
also has anyone experience wind noise after taking the door trims off and than putting them back on..??

I took off the rear door trim and yes, I did break something....I broke a clip when I put it back. just be careful with it. and trust me 1.u wont break it in half 2.u wont want to buy a new one, it's 420 for a non-wood trim and 460 for a wood trim.

no wind noise if u seal back the film(what does it call again?) properly

Are you talking about the trim that comes on a dealer installed "Decor package" or the door sills? I had my "Decor package" taken off by the dealer.. if they charged you to put it on, they usually take it off for free. Better them messing up your car and you being able to hold them accountable rather than you messing up something and being SOL.

those clips are pretty hard to break.

In my experience I seriously just yanked'em out and I didnt have any problems.

did you try to krazy glue the clip..??

I would only CC the clip to hold it temporarily. I would use a 5 minute epoxy of some sort in order to fix it permanantly. CC does not have the strength needed.
