Wiring 6 disc changer
Wiring 6 disc changer
Hey guys. I just got the six disc changer and was wondering if anyone had problems wiring it. Would it be better if I took it to Nissan and have them put it in? I know its just connect from the HU to the changer but I dont know if its hard getting the wire there. If anyone's done it, how long did it take you and how bad was installing it. Thanks

I did it last weekend and it was not bad. Instruction is vague about removing dash parts and HU but I had an experience so it was not a problem. Except that it's quite straight forward. I didn't measure time but it was like an hour. Good luck.
just take your time getting in the dash the first time. Its all very soft and easy to scratch. Use tape to protect the sides and a towel over the shifter plate when removing the unit. trust me, always do that until you get the hang of removing it. thats actually in a TSB, protecting the dash because the radio/climate control cage is pretty sharp in places.
The rest is simple, again, just give yourself a few hours. Get in a rush and you'll be buying a new door sill or living with a nasty gouge on your dash. Thats not saying that nissan wont gouge it for you regardless, should they install it.
but most wont.
