Stock 6 cd changer

Stock 6 cd changer
Just bought a Stock (Clarion) 6 CD changer that goes in the trunk of my '02 Max. The dealer in Texas that I purchased it from said installation is around $75 cause the car is pre-wired. My local dealer in CT say $300 claiming there is a lot of labor involved. Can anyone advise on the procedure to install. Step by Step instructions would be great! I just may attempt myself.
Thanks,
Bob

if your 2k2 is prewired, then that is something the dealer did. They dont come that way. Since they ask $600 for the changer on the lot, they often have to pull them out to make the deal, but leave the cable in there. Maybe they know its there already? Another dealer would have to assume they would have to run the cable. 200-300 is the standard rate. Its really easy, just time consuming.

I've also just purchased the cd changer from courtesy nissan ($142.56 on sale). It seems that the adapter is set up to connect to existing wiring. There is only one connector that splices between the headunit wiring& the rest plugs in to areas behind the instrument panel. I plan on doing the install myself since I've already pretty much taken the entire dash apart once before. Let me know if you were successful or not. I'll do the same.

Is this for the 2K2 Bose HU used with Navi or is this for the 6 Disc in Dash Bose HU?
I know from reading the ESM that the Navi Bose HU should be prewired for the 6 disc changer mounted in the trunk. I don't know if the wiring is there on all 2K2's or if a special harness is installed at the factory for the trunk changer once the car is slated to get Navi.
