HELP I can't drive my car!!!

For the past month, sporadically, sometimes when i accellerate from a dead stop, the car will SLAM into 1st gear. My transmission has also been slipping for at least a year. Whenever it shifts from 1st to second gear, and second to third gear, there is a long pause while the engine revs bounce off the rev limiter before it finally shifts into gear.

Yesterday i was at a light and after i pushed the pedal down to accelerate, the car only crept ahead slowly and it seemed the engine was under heavy strain. The transmission never shifted out of 4th gear and into first. It was still in 4th gear when I accelerated.

from then on the transmission would sporadically shift into the wrong gear, and sometimes wouldn't even go into park or reverse. The car is undriveable because it now wont shift out of 1st gear.

Help! Has anyone else experienced these problems?? Nissan dealerships wont open till monday... I have a y pipe an intake... will they refuse service?

your soleniods are gone for sure.. warranty for that. They will check for metal in the pan and go from there. If its still sporatic, you may not have a dead tranny.

your mods are not going to affect the tranny, hence you shouldnt have problems getting repair. The thing is, when you mod the car, you give the impression that you drive it hard. That is where the abuse accusation comes from. That might be a concern, but seriously, SO many maxima trannies have done this (bone stock, even almost new) that it shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks for the reply tim, It isnt sporatic now... its constant.

It's really frusterating not having a car, especially since for the past month I've hardly had it. First it was inspected, then the y pipe put on, then the MAF shorted out (on the turnpike, so that was not fun), then a truck tire hit me on the turnpike, and i had to get $2000 worth of front-end damage repaired, then I JUST got the car back 3 days ago, and now the transmission goes out.

I dont think any black cats walked infront of me....

.....time for a 350z??
