Was at my dealer yesterday and brought up the (herkey jerkey) problem with my car. He knew right away what i was talking about and had me put in a request to nissan of canada. He said that if enough people complain about it, nissan will do something about it, but you have to register a formal complaint. He also said the adjusting the tps wont make a difference, its in the ecu (as we know). I was also told by him that they can just download new scripts for the ecu and reprogram them at the dealer, apparently 99+ ecu's are like this. Maybe if everyone formally complains to their dealer, we can get this problem resolved. Heres hoping and of course waiting........

I've mentioned it to my dealer, but didn't make a formal complaint. I'll make sure to do that next time I'm in.

If this is in fact true.. (sorta like a solid state flash eeprom, or something), then fixing the problem would cost Nissan no more than a cans of pepsi and cold pizza (for the engineer's / programmers)..

On the other hand, I am not sure it COULD be quite as simple... If you were able to just "flash" new software into your ECU, why deal with all the replacements/piggybacks, etc...

Since I've posted many times regarding the "fuel cut", I won't bore everyone again with my opinions and observations. However, you can email Matt Stone at Motor Trend at StoneM@emapUSA.com to express your concerns regarding this issue.

You can also email Nissan at nnaconsumeraffairs@nissan-usa.com or call their 800 number to register any complaints regarding your vehicle. If we don't speak up about our problems, they will not be fixed. Good luck.
