Auto to 6 speed tranny swap?

How much would it cost for parts and labor?

I'm not sure, but there is a 3.5L engine with 6 speed transmission for sale on ebay. Maybe this will help.

Between the cost of the parts (even if you bought the Ebay at the $4,500.00 they list) and the extensive labor to try to do this, I would imagine you would very quickly get to the point of having it more cost effective just to get a new car, a 2k2 or 2k3 with what you want.

If I had money to blow I would get that kit and rig it up to my car like that kid did with the dual-engine Tiburon. That would be sweet. Imagine peeling out with the front wheels in drive, and the rear wheels in reverse, each pushing 200hp at the wheels.

Is it just me or has there been a lot of AUTO to 5 speed conversions (haven't come across 6 speed conv) lately? Why didn't these people buy manual trannys in the first place? It'll save a lot of time and money in the long run. We all know autos are slooow

I bought an auto because of my wife. I've tried on numerous occasions to teach her to drive a stick and decided it's a lost cause. She has only driven my car once in 4 months. I wanted the 6 speed. Oh well, such is life.

Why do you want to change to a 6 speed? 6 speeds are more fun on the highway but if you do a lot of city driving the auto is a whole lot less work.

If you are setting up for drag racing an auto set up right will out et a 6 speed every time. Get a properly sized torque converter with traction and no 6 speed with equal hp/weight can beat you in the 1/4 mile.
