2k2 Stock Grill painted grey lustre.....

not really into the mesh scene, and i wasn't too fond of my stock grill already fading and scratched up beyond all belief, so i had my shop paint it to match the car...free cause they know how to hook me up but i asked in case any one around here wanted it done (Sunnyside, NY), they said $65.

After

It's looks good with the grey luster consideering the grill is close in color already. Your car will look even better with some clear side markers... so would mine I guess

thanx man...not compared to your majestic blue though (love that color) but yeah, it was close stock but i just coulnd't take it anymore....as far as clears go, i think the patter would just die...if you notice, tint is dark, grill is body colored...i'm going for a look that doesn't stand out...plain...simple...you put clears and bam, there goes attention. i want subtle attention. i am gonna purchase the clears, but i'm tinting them so they blend in. it's just a feeling i have with this car...it's a somewhat luxury car....there's a line between civic and maxima...you go too far (mesh, clears, multicolor lights) and you're gonna go back to being young...it's all about subtle improvements, not bright neon.

and...an interesting factoid...Grey Lustre, Color Code KV3, has a real name of GREENISH METALLIC....i knew i noticed a hint of green in there somewhere...i swear it's silver in the dark and green during the day...still cool none the less.

hahaha...as much as i'd like to...i just cna't spill the beans....cause then someone will beat me to it and then i'll be ****ed. i can only work on the car over the weekend cause i work FT over the week and am usually too lazy and/or tired to do any work on the car.

and that camera is a regular camera....the very weird thing is i purposely left it there cause i'm wierd and thouht it'd be funny to take a picture with a camera in the picture...looks like you caught on.

that's all i'm saying and i'm sticking to it!!!!

Actually I was thinking only the front amber side markers. I like the red ones but I think the fronts would look great cleared. There are alot of high end luxary cars with factory clear side markers, but ours are bigger but I think it would look tastefull and less ricey for if the fronts are cleared.

eh, the wind deflector is pretty flexible, so painting that might be tough. might have to go for flex paint, and even then the chances of it cracking are high. also would have to pain the rubber surround around the edge of the deflector. personally, it's not that noticable of a piece for me, but maybe it is for you. to each his own. if you do it, i wanna see pics of it

This may just be my imagination...

But doesn't the 4th and 5th pic from the gallery at NissanDriven.com look a lot like it has the grill painted also? You be the judge...http://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/MediaGallery/0,9441,20360,00.html#photos

search for a better price...i know you can get a better price....hell, it would be cheaper for you to mail it to me, i get it painted, and send it back...come on...i say 50 for a hookd up and average 65-85 for a fair price....don't settle for $135.

Looks great Polo. Now I've gotta come up with some more money to have mine painted Majestic Blue.

*Edit* Did you have to replace the Nissan logo in the middle? Or did they just paint around it? *Edit*

BTW... Send me that wiring info on the remote start. Mine was ordered and shipped today.

emblem pops right now...when you pull out the grill, you'll see how it just pops out. i pulled the grill out, emblem off, and just handed them the grill. i drove around for a few days and then picked it up when they were done.

catch me on aim and we'll talk about the remote start?
did you ever find out about the sunroof for the alarm. i do know 529T is SUPPOSED to take care of it, but did you succeed or haven't tried yet?

Polo

I have the removal instructions for the grille, but they say to remove the bumper first. Does your way allow you to leave the bumper on? If so, please post.

My AIM handle is JOWhereRU (all letters) - find me there and we'll chat about the remote start.

The remote start shipped today. It should be here by the weekend or early next week (UPS Ground from NY to FL). I also ordered the 529T... I am picking it up On Oct 24th. I'll get with you once I get that project going (and whether or not it worked).

2k2 Grill Removal

Grill on 2k2 is very easy to get out. (3) 10mm socket nuts on inside behind grill and (3) clips at bottom of grill and it's out in 10 min. Took mine out and dropped it off today at Maaco for 75.00. They told me it would be done tommorrow.
