Titanium Package
Titanium Package
Hello everyone, I'm going to be buying a 2003 SE and am deciding on whether to get the Titanium Package. Of course you gotta get the sunroof if you want the titanium. Does anyone here have the Titanium package and tell me why they got it or how they like it?
thanks
thanks

My experience in shopping around for the 2003 SE's is more than likely, a majority of them on the lot are going to have the TE package included. Nissan has this thing where you either get a fully loaded car (TE, Meridian, and leather packages w/o NAV) or a lower end basic car with, if I remember correctly, either just the meridian package, just the TE package, or nothing at all except floor mats.
The TE's not a bad package, in fact, I was kinda against the meridian package, but couldn't find any cars w/o it. I'm kinda glad I got it tho in the end.
Good Luck!

I drove 150 miles to buy my '03 SE... without so much as floormats! After seeing the other packages and their respective prices, I saved a whole lot of money by not spending it on minor trim items and one more window.
A stripped SE (like mine) costs so much less, and yet, I think it is worth so much more!
The downside is this though... Nissan will only ship 1 manual tranny per 10 automatics for the Maxima, and every stick I came across was fully loaded. FULLY LOADED. So, alas, I have a wife-o-matic. It ain't so bad, though.

i think the only really nessesary things to get on the max is a HLSD and six speed. everything else is purely cosmetic.
in my case..i wanted a 6 speed, and the only 6 speed they had was FULLY loaded with everything except navi..but i still love it

i'm glad i found this site just in time. that nissan makes you get one package to get another sucks. i want the titanium package mainly for the bose stereo system because the standard stereo really blows. i guess i'll have to pay for the sunroof as well.
I got my new 03 SE with the Titanium package for a few reasons. First, I think the polished wheels are awesome. They have that "satin chrome" look. I also like the accent stitching in the wheel and the shifter ****. The value of the Bose system is debatable. Floor mats are nice, as are the AE door sills it comes with. As a whole, I think the Titanium package is worth it. BTW, I wanted the sunroof anyway.

why do you guys keep talking about what you can find on the lot? I went to the dealer with the nissandriven.com list of what I wanted. It took about 6 weeks, but he found it.
make the dealer work for you! Go tell him what you want and if he won't find it, start sending email/faxes to any/all nissan dealers you can find. I live in NH and decided I was willing to drive about 4 hours to get my car, so that meant a lot of NY and all of CT, RI, MA, NH, and ME. Four hours isn't all that much to get exactly what you want.... hell, I went to Sweden to get my volvo cross-country (saved a BUNDLE!).

well in my situation, i couldn't wait that long... 6 weeks... thats way too long.. cuz my old car was about to die on me.. i mean.. the altima was at the edge of detoriating. i needed a car REALLY bad. so from all the cars the SE's had some kind of package... pretty expensive... well for me it is. so i found a BASE GLE.. 2002.. with NO options.. how ironic is that?? i heard there isn't many of those.. cuz its just a show car or whatever. but yea.. bought that car right before some lady wanted to buy it...pheww.. but hey financially i got 25k out the door. sorrie im not rich... but im workin on it.
Good luck trying to find a 2003 SE with out the TE package they are very rare. Have you considered ordering a 2003 from Carsdirect.com you can build the car to you specifications and you will recieve a fair price on the vehicle.
I'm not rich either, I just have rich tastes
.... that's why I went to sweden for the volvo, that's why I waited 6 weeks for the Max. The sweden trip saved $4,500 on a fully-loaded cross-country. Looking 300 miles away and being willing to wait a few weeks meant I got a good deal on my Max.
I've read where people here have spent upwards of $28k or $29k for a new Max. The way I see it, I'd rather buy a $1,000 beater and keep looking for a few weeks. Then you can get a Max for around $26k (like me) and have a winter beater and still save a few thousand off what you would have spent if you were rushed to buy.

so what would be a good price for a 2003 maxima SE w/the sunroof, titanium package, sunroof wind deflector and the basics(splash guards, floor mats, trunks mats)
the lowest quote i've gotten so far is 25,753.45 and thats 'out the door'(includes taxes, tags, processingfee, etc)
(maximas have a $1000 manufacturer rebate this week)

It depends on your tastes but I had to have the Titanium package. I love the accents and the rims. I think another thing that should be considered is the color of the interior. I got the dark cloth so the accents look great.
I also think that it is dealer dependent on the Titanium package being on the SE. In No. VA i saw plenty of 2k3 SE's on the lot withouth the Titanium package - auto and manual. The hard thing was finding a 6 speed with the Polished Titanium exterior, but when I found one I jump on it immediately.
Just my two cents.

those are real experiences... I got my 2k2 SE for about $25k in March 2002. That seems to be the lower end of the range of prices for cars at that time. Now you can get a 2k2 for less, but in March 2002, $25k was a good price.
So, take the advice... go to cardirect.com and pick your options then take that printout to a dealer and see what he'll do. He might match it, he might tell you he can't. If he can't, look in your local phone book and fax that sheet to all the Nissan dealers in your area.
Or, better yet, go online and find all the Nissan dealers within 300 miles and fax it to all of them. That's what I did. I had my options and my price and faxed it to about 25 Nissan dealers from NY/NJ to Maine (I live in NH). I was getting calls back before I had sent all the faxes, so I lowered the price I was willing to pay and kept sending faxes. I ended up much less than MSRP (who actually pays that???) and a little less than my original price by doing this.
Sorry, but you're going to have to do a little legwork on this.

I was pretty happy with the deal ($1,100 under MSRP). I think the TE sets it apart from the others. The rims look great and I like the titanium accents in the interrior. I was parked next to a Black Max last weekend of the same year and I saw him eyeing my shiney rims
It really is noticeable when they are side by side. The only thing I wish I could give back is the POS Bose system. I would gladly rip it out and get my $1,000 back
If you don't plan to upgrade the stereo I guess its ok, but it costs you more to upgrade if you do .
Just Curious

Just wondering how a stripped down car is worth so much more than a fully loaded one?

) and the highest volume is not nearly enough to overcome the road noise when the windows are down.I typically use the factory speakers and throw in an aftermarket head unit, amp, and subs. I didn't like the fact that I was forced into getting the Bose because of the packages. I also had to get an adapter to make it all work.
In short, if you never plan to upgrade the stereo it is slightly better than the average stock stereo. Is it worth $1000 beans? Noooooo.

I bought mine for $300 over invoice (real Nissan invoice, not the dealer's BS invoice). It's Grey Lustre, which was my second choice. The dealership that originally had my business played the bait and switch with a sharp silver SE. All I can say is People's Nissan in Fulsom, CA. can kiss my a$$ for thier cheap tactics. Since I had already driven nearly 3 hours to them on a Friday afternoon, I just bought from a researched neighbor. Check out Future Nissan in Roseville, CA. if you are in that area.

I also own a 2003 maxima se with the titanium edition. The polished wheels really set off this car. I think the interior accents with the frost leather look fantastic. The chrome door sills are a nice touch as well. The Bose is also not as bad as it is made out to be. Mine sounds great. Out the door price of 26.5k from a sticker of 30.9k. Although 1k of that was deler added enviromental protection coating and trunk mat!
Love the car. It seems a little slower know at 3k miles, though. Maybe I am just more used to the power. Either way. I love it!
