Borla Muffler Question

Does Borla make a muffler for the fifth gen Max (2001)? I called around my area but they don't have a part number. If there isn't a muffler for the fifth gen what muffler would be an equivalent (i.e. low noise but roars at WOT) Input please.

Borla makes a universal muffler. You don't really match up the make and model of your car, you just match up the diameter of your piping. My fourth gen is 2.25 for the stock b-pipe and the muffler I bought was 2.25 I believe, so I just had a muffler shop weld it on.

How does your car sound? I've only been told it's nice and quite until WOT.

How much did you pay for yours and what is the warranty on it?

Thanks

It sounds real nice. Its a real low tone when accelerating and hardly any sound at all when you maintain a constant speed. It doesn't sound anything like a 4-banger honda weed-eater, but it also doesn't sound as mean as a V8 American car. I've only heard it from the inside of my car though with the windows down, I need to get someone else to fly by me with my car to see how it sounds to others. It won't shake the ground or anything when you rev it. I paid $100 for the muffler and had it and a tip welded on for $60 at Meineke. Dunno about the warranty, its a muffler, not too much that can go wrong with it.

Can you provide pictures? Mufflers (maybe stock replacements) usually come with a life time warranty.

I've been told that if you have eliminated your resonator the Borla will be very loud.

Sorry, I have no digital camera. Theres a pic of it on Borla's website. I still have my resonator, so that probably why mine is not real loud. Thats fine though, I have a maxima, not a Trans Am.
