Maxima is "Tight"

I am new here to the Forum. I have had my Maxima for less than 2 weeks. I bought it new with only 17 miles on it, my first "brand new car" in over 25 years. I have been looking at the Maxima for 3 years now and am very pleased with my purchase. In order to buy it I had to get my on-board with the car and it's value and benefits. My wife loves the car! She took my youngest son to a haunted house last night and before coming home stopped to get a root-beer at A&W. We have a no-eating in the car rule so her and my son were sitting at a table by the car. A young man in his early 20's (we are in our 40's) yells to his friend "Hey Jimmy, look at this Maxima. It's tight!" Talk about pride of ownership! My wife said thanks, and they began to ask her all about it. They freaked when they found out it was a 6 speed SE. Obviously they have done their homework. I have only driven it once due to a recent injury, but am in love with it too. Our previous car was a 96' Mercury Grand Marquis. My wife has been convinced that no one under the age of 70 owns one of those and that is the main reason we traded it in. We are pleased with the Maxima and are taking our first road trip this week-end. Any one in Southern Calif shopping for one I would recommend Metro Nissan. Best car buying experience in my life, service is awesome. Just wanted to share our love for the newest addition to our family. Thanks, Alan

I wish I was as pleased with my car as you are yours. I have had nothing but issues and problems with mine. Good luck with your new purchase.

Congrats!!!!!

I have also had a few minor problems, but nothing that the FNND can't fix. My 2k2 is the 5th Maxima i have had so they must be doing something right.

I only have 10k on mine and have already blown most of my warranty with aftermarket parts. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems as of yet.

what color did you get? Let me guess, Majestic Blue. That's the color everyone seems to like (including myself..but sterling mist is so much easier to take care of and it looks nice)

Congradulations from moving to a 70+ car to a car 20 year olds think are tight!

same boat as you

At least age and family wise. This is the 2nd Maxima I've owned, both bought new (previous was a 89 3rd gen, new is an 02). I came from a Firebird (mistake of my youth) and have never regretted the decision once. I have had a few recalls on this but with the one exception (radio's are on serious back order) they have been fixed promptly (one day). Good luck.

I love that "tight" expression! I recently got my Max (03, 6sp, TE - Polished Titanium). However, I'm not calling my ride "Tight" until address the rattles in my rear deck
