Which level VB did you get (street/sport)? How much? How long did they have the car?

They had a group deal running but last I saw of it the quota was not met.

thanks

Could you give me their contact information.
I want to call them and discuss possiblities of sharing the mod knowledge w/ other shops (for a fee of course) so people living in other states can get it done locally, while they can still profit from it.

Sorry for all the questions man, but for the 2 - 3 hr time.

Was your VB taken out and an already tuned VB was swapped in? Or was that the time to take out your VB, mod it and then put it back?

I live on the west cost, but maybe if it's a swap, a core swap can be done vis shipping.

Do they have a website?

Insites to Jeff's VB mod

Well here is my thoughts about VB mod done by Jeff on LI. Under the recommendation of Jeff from Maximum Tuning I had this done to my 2k2. He advised me to get the stock option upgrade, the first of 3 levels. Here is my impression; I don't race, cross country, or drag just some spirited driving from time to time, but who doesn't with this car. At first when I pulled it out from Jeffs shop I noticed that the car jumps into gear very quickly. A little disconcerning at first, its like a thud when the gears change instead of that ultra smooth shift we are used to. At first I thought what a mistake. It shifts much smoother when you drive it spiritedly. In traffic it jolts into gear (bumper to bumper),rough to get used to. At first gas milage was off, due to the fact that I kept jumping on the car so that I could feel the transmission jump into gear and blow by everyone from a stop start. Now after blowing by everyone I've calmed down somwhat and to my surprise the mileage has improved. For those who are on the fence about this upgrade the shift from 1st to 2nd is hard; if you like easing into gear think about it, however if you want to bring this car to the next level this mod has to be done. I also had the tranny cooler from B&M installed. The work took 2hrs to complete all right in front of you so that you can see and ask all the questions you have as to the benefits this mod will give you. Jeff and his tranny guy are true Pro's.

A few ?'s for jlageman

What kind of gains will this mod typically give you (0-60, 1/4 mile, etc...)?

Will it lessen the life expectancy of the tranny?

Will it void the powertrain warranty?

Is it something that any good transmission shop can do?

Sorry about all of the questions, but my auto needs all the help it can get!!!

No not at all. The only thing that is troubling is that in traffic at times I get a double thud. Was told that it is searching for gears. Other than that no problems. Adds excitement to this car.

i dont think the warranty would be void unless you tell nissan that you had tis done. you would have to take the vb apart to see the difference and it is so slight you would hardly tell the diff unless you are a trany man
