Cattman's Y-pipe still bangs....
After inputing a lot of washers to cross member, the y-pipe does not bang during normal driving. But when I try to peel out, and wheels hop, it bangs really bad.
Does anybody have a good solution? what did all of you do?
thnx

Hmm, I just got mine on a few weeks back and I haven't had any problems yet. Nothing extra needed, stock hanger and bolts, etc. What exactly is supposed to be hitting? I photoed the whole install for a guide, but the install guy (nissan pro) didn't see anything wrong either

I am using longer bolts now with 5 or 6 washers and extra nut inbetween, that the cross beam is even lower now then the resonator.
I have the old design, and I'm afraid, that when I take it off, the pipe is gonna move/wobble so much, and nothing is gonna be there to bang off of that it will come apart or something.
Could that happen?
I'm really ready to take off this stupid thing, it weighs twice as much now with the longer bolts, extra nuts and washers.

A motor mount upgrade definatly does help. With my new poly mounts my wheel hop has been drasticly reduced and so has the banging noises. As for removing the crosse beam.. I have to disagree with you there. I removed mine and found that the car had a lot more sway to it. The whole car felt like it lost a lot of stiffness.
