Tein S. Tech Spring kit?

Has anyone ever heard of these springs (Tein S. Tech Spring kit)? They are a lot cheaper than the eibachs and give you more or a drop (2.2in FR, 1.6 RR). That sounds good to me, because the wheel gap in the front of my car is TWICE as big in the back of my car (Four finger wheel gap in the front, and 2 finger in the back). Any one have any advice how these springs are compared to eibachs? Here is the link www.optauto.com Click on suspension on the right, then nissan, then you know the drill. Anyone have any feedback or comments?
Thanks

-Pat

Tein is a premier performance suspension manufacturer in Japan. Going to get a set of coilovers from them for my S13 soon.

Can ANYONE tell me how these spring rates relate to others such as H&R and Eibach?

I'm sooooo tempted and ready to buy something.

WOW!

Looks like a GREAT deal! Tein makes quality stuff. I'd consider them if I hadn't just ordered the Maxspeeds !!! Then again, I'm still on stock struts, so I'm not sure if I'd want that much drop.

Dang. 2.2" drop in the front. I could never make it where I live. I'd have to mount a winch on the front of the max for ever time I high centered or bottomed out. But hey. Go for it man. Let us know.

Think a drop that significant would require a camber plate kit for the front too.....

Anyone else concur? I do know that Tien makes good stuff.

Not sure.

Would the Eibach camber bolts be enough or do I need the $$$$ on the plates?

What is a camber plate kit? How much does it cost?

Camber is the tilt adjustment on your front wheels. Any changes in excess of 2" place the car so low, there isn't enough adjustment left in the factory camber to make your tires sit level on the road. / \ unstead of | | if that makes sense. Anyhow, the camber plates fix that....

I'm sure there is someone here who has experience in doing a 2" plus drop with camber plate adjustments.

Found EIBACH part number for their "Alignment Kit"

Product Front Rear Comments Part Number
PRO-KIT 1.3 in 1.0 in Varies by engine size and or model. 6350.140

I don't think my Stillen AERO lip is going to last long.

Maybe the AE front 3-piece lip would give more clearance with the Stillen sides and rear?

I lowered my 01 GXE 3.0 in the front and 2.0" in the rear I run modified Koni Yellows in custom strut sleeves. Actually going to run 600-500 spring rates on my GCs now cause I find em little too soft with 400-300 rate, anyone want to buy just the coils ? I find that the extra degree of negative camber doesn't eat up the tires much at all- I usually get 7-10K miles out of front tires anyways. Plus it gives the car less understeer durring high speed cornering around Road America :P
Mike
01 Max GXE 5spd, every bolt on, 14.1@97MPH going to dyno this month to tune the S-AFC more and my custom ECM.
93 SE-R forged bottom end, Fmax, Garrett, Forge, lots of $$$, needs some more tuning, its turbo :P

Also, what "custom ECM" are you running?

Well, i think i am going to go with the eibachs. Only because they are garunteed for life, and the Teins are only garunteed for a year. I have another question, Does anyone know why my car is so off balance? with a 4 finger wheel gap in the front, and only a 2 finger gap in the rear? When i put on the eibachs, it will still be a little off balance but not as bad. Does anyone else have this problem?

the car is balance...
the reason why the front fender gap is so big is b/c the front 2 tires turn, and the rear duzn't...
like...they dont want to tires hitting the fender on turns...
well thats what i assume

I already ordered mine!

However, it says "out-of-stock", but at least I'll still get the same price when they do get in stock.

I'm just worried about hitting the bump stops and driving with a 2.2inch drop w/Stillen lip.

I like the drop in the front... but I really hate how a car looks when the drop is uneven.

I'm sticking with saving for coilovers.

Looks like you got a little time, since optauto is out-of-stock.

However, once they get in stock they will probably be at retail which will be $220-250.

I didn't realize Tein had come out with springs for 5th gens! That is a decent price, as we all know their quality is top-notch. If I were going with springs, I would definitely have to decide between the Tein S Tech or the Maxspeeds.

Intrax Sport Springs?

I decided not to go with tein, because i have a limited budget and i don't want to deal with camber plate system. However, i found that the Intrax SPort Spring drops a few tenths more inches than eibach and they say that they have a more comfortable ride. Anyone ever heard of them? or have them on their ride? Pics? Thanks

Yeah, camber bolts are $25, but camber plates are $300. I though camber bolts wouldn't do enough for a 2.2 in. drop

You only need camber bolts according to KevinG.

What's so funny about that? Normally I wouldn't consider them, but people seem to have had good results with those on here. H&R ride/quality for 1/2 the price sounds pretty good to me.

The guys at TEIN said you don't need any camber correction kit for their S. Tech Springs.

bah..warranties on spring...u don't really worry about warranties with springs...there's not much(if any) that can go wrong with coils!!! besides, TEIN makes pretty good stuff...i think that's good enough.
