Going to battle tommorow

I'm taking my 2000 maxima to the dealer today. I have 35,xxx miles on the car and i'm am worried that the dealer might hold out on fixing certain things until after the waranty is up. I would greatly appreciate any tips or pointers on getting them to fix TSB's. I have read about many org's being jerked around and chrarged for things that should be covered under warranty. For instance I Do Have the brake judder problem, My service engine soon light came on for about a week: many org's experienced this and had their O2 sensors fixed, some paid some didn't. My transmission shifts harsh from time to time....could this be related to the transmission slippage TSB?. Please help me out as I'm trying to fix everything before 36,000 miles rolls around..

As long as the problem was reported before the 36k you shouldn't have a problem.

I just had my brake judder TSB done last week. I printed them out a copy of the TSB (from the sticky thread) and took it down there. No questions asked and I even saved another 5th gen from having to pay for brakes because of the tsb I brought in.

Bring a copy of the related TSB to them, and after you describe to the service manager what problems you are having, hand the copies of the TSB to him/her. They should give you NO crap at all. If they do, go to another dealer.

I've had several TSB's done at the dealer for nothing, and they gave me a loaner for the days they were working on my 2k max.

It really should be no big deal dude...

uhhhhhh.. yeah...


TSB's are a fallback. Don't play them up front. Will get you nothing but resistance. Use almost word for word what the tsb says to describe your problem. Mention that you had a friend with the same problem and *he* said there was a TSB on his car and you wonder if it applies to yours. Let them think they are still calling the shots.

if they dont do the work or try to charge you, have them printed and ready to play them..

The funny thing is that I LISTENING to Lose Yourself while reading this thread and when i got to the lyrics I cracked up!

My warrenty stuff was a mixed bag, they didn't replace the rotors, merely turned them and after I referenced the TSBs on that and the coil replace they said that the rotors needed to be damaged worse and the coils had already been replaced...
The service dude was kind of a non but they got me in and serviced the car despite not being able to find or isolate "the low flying jet" sound under the hood.
All the advice you have gotten so far is correct, you will have to be the judge on "playing the game" with the service manager though.

that song sucks. but the movie is good except the ending.

i am a hiphop fan. i do understand the end but for the general public they will not understand it. and the song has a bad beat, the lyrics are decent. he's just gone too mainstream now.

Maybe I gave off the wrong impression with battle. But the service reps give you so much B.S. it's not even funny. When you tell them your problems why do they pretend that they have no clue what could be the cause? It makes me feel like an attorney having to waltz into the service dept. with print out of TSB's. Hence the thread title "Going to battle tomorrow" Why are dealers so reluctant to fix what is entitled to you as a Nissan customer? Excuse my French, but what the **** happened to good ol' honesty

the battle was solid. just the end leaves you with the feeling of... ok so he won a rap battle, big deal. does he go onto getting his own time in the studio? maybe they planned it for a sequal.
