Maxima 2000 Antenna Mast needed

Guys, does anyone know where to find and how to replace an antenna mast for Maxima 2000?

After I broke mine, I was surprised to find out the bodyshops usually have the power antennas for the 4th generation only, but not the simple piece of a graphite stick the 5th generation has. I wouldn't say the reception became any worse, it's just a matter of aesthetics to have a full antenna instead of half of it

Oh yes I do. At least the thing that was sticking out of the rear window till I broke it did look like an antenna

I may be wrong, but I believe all the 5th gen max's have the antenna built into the reat window...Makes the car look a lot more smooth and sports like.

I know the 3rd and 4th gens came with power antennas...Maybe you can show us a pic of what you are talking about

I think we both are talking about the same piece: a small stick (like 10 inches long), made of graphite inside, plastic outside, which is located in the upper middle of the rear window. That's what I'm looking for.

Interesting. I've been reviewing images of other Maximas 2000 and found out they usually didn't have an external antenna. But I do have it on my Maxima 2000 SE! Looks like it: http://www.euro-concepts.com/images/...entAntenna.jpg

That looks like an aftermarket part...not a factory option.

That is not factory. The true antenna is integrated in the rear window like the defroster.

The antenna is in the lower passenger side of the read window.

It actually took me 3 weeks after I got the car to realize there was no antenna! (and another 2 months that there was no passenger door key lock0

It's possible that if the car is used the previous owner added this antenna...my friend bought a used Range Rover where someone had done that. The antenna was integrated into the front windshield factory, and as a result when you turned on the wipers you would get interferance. So the previous owner installed a mast antenna...maybe someone didn't like the pritned glass antenna and added this one to your car?

It's possible that it is a cell phone antenna.
