330i..then a escalade..

on way home from Vegas, saw black vehicle darting in and out and finally got to my rear bumber....i was doing 80mph. noticed it was a 330i with a "bad *** beamer" sticker on rear quarter window.....i just couldn't resist...i immediately tucked right in behind and we both passed a slower vehicle, then we were side by side, perfect. i floored it and i began to walk ahead.....really. i eased up at 130 and that beamer was way, way behind. i don;t know too much about beamers, are they top end monsters?

then this escalade wanted to run...this is a funny one...i was easing along about 30mph on local streets as i near home and this white brand spanking new esclade paced me, that's right stayed with me side by side and even lurched forward a couple of times as he jabbed the throttle..."is this guy daring me or something?", i thought to myself...suddenly, he took off, no 3 honks, no nothing....naturally, i caught up, with ease, and played him a bit, paced him, lurch forward a few times.....both stopped a red light, took him off the line easily, chirped 2'nd just to let f*ck w/him and stepped on the brakes to wait for his **** to catch up....it was hilarious............

the beamer didn't try. they have really good top end.

The 330i and 330Ci are electronically limited to 128mph top speed.

couldn't tell if it was a manual or auto, but it sure looked nice....

irvine78: i don't think this one was chipped, if it was, it didn't go past 130 for sure.....and how ironic it would be to purposely remove the speed limiter buy yet not run past it, especially with a family sedan next to you at 100+ on an open highway....and for those 330, or whatever, that are still tagging along with you at 140+, i could imagine their expression and dissapointment, in their vehicle that is...

for that escalade, the dude was sitting with half of his left side hanging out the window.....just had to show him that "the most powerful suv on the planet" wasn't meant for teasing family sedans, he should've climb a rock..

Linh: good to get an honest open opinion from a previous owner, so, are a vq owner now?

anyhow, i finally got a chance to see the vq on the top end....priceless

The guys on the BMW boards have been able to get 14.6-14.8 @ 94-ish out of stock 330i's, so they are no slow pokes. They also dyno at around 195-200 rwhp manual, which indicates that they're really putting out 235-240 bhp, NOT 225 bhp as rated. BMW engines are all underrated to some extent.

If you were able to beat the guy and pull many many cars on him like that, it was most likely an automatic.

Nice run, though

It sounds like the guy in the Bimmer wasnt racing the whole time. The highway is where the bimmer really moves. If he was really far behind he wasnt racing.

hard to say, he was on my rear bumper pretty good, so as soon as he passed, i tucked in behind and we both wizzed by a few cars before the road opened up and got side by side, and by that time, if recalled correctly, it was about 110. i really didn't pull on him immediately, just kinda walked away and i eased up at 130.
