Dim Service Engine Soon Light Help
Dim Service Engine Soon Light Help
Hi there,
Re: 3 week old 2003 SE with 450 miles.
I have done the search on this topic, and the info has been helpful. I just need a couple more answers.
Some who have had this problem have said that one way in fixing it may be to take the negative cable off the battery? Has any of you found that to work? Is there anything that I have to worry about when I do that?
My appointment with the dealer is for Dec. 12 - do I have to worry about driving the car?

I had that problem and armed with some helpful info from the org, had the dealer check it out. The service writer saw the dim light (very difficult to see in sunlight) and checked with Nissan.
Evidently, they knew of this problem and said that some faulty instrument clusters were installed in cars. They said the only way to fix it was to replace the cluster. They ordered the part and installed it with no problems. No dim light since the service was done.
Good luck and hope this helps.
