Y-Pipe and CAI
Okay, so Cattman says to use the CAI with the Y-Pipe for the best results. Okay, so Im sold on the CAI, but Ive heard all around that the Y-Pipe is not street legal, and that it causes added noise outside and in the cabin. Is this true, and has anyone with the Y-Pipe here noticed this?
Use the search feature - you'll find more than you wanted to know about the y-pipe.
I have the Stillen Intake and Cattman Y. The y makes a little noise mainly at WOT. I did not want the "bees in a can noise" and am happy with the Cattman.

I get a low buzzing noise at about 1500 rpms, but the noise gets overtaken by the CAI high above. My car got a lot louder after the y pipe was installed (PR CAI and Stillen muffler setup).
The y pipe is for off-road use only... hehehehehe
As Max_Gator said, use the search and you'll find tons of info.

The Y-pipe is not for street use b/c the Stock Y has 2 precats. The noise is not that much louder on the Cattman SS. the tone of the car changes, it sounds like a pontiac Gran Prix if U know what those sound like.
