What rim size for 255 rubber...
What rim size for 255 rubber...
Hey Guys, I want to buy a new set of wheel, I want to run 255-40-17 or 18, do you think a 8.5" wide and an offset of 38mm should clear from rubbing.
Let me know what you guys think.
Cheers

Shoot cwally a PM or email. I know he had 245 series tires on his car and he wanted to put 255s in the rear. I don't know if he has or not yet. He's a cool guy. He answered a lot of my newbie questions what seems like not to long ago but, wow, nearly a year.
I have 245/40/17 on the rear (summer tires) and it's close.
When the car is raised on jacks, there's about half an inch of clearance with the spring. When the car is on the ground, it's a little more obviously. I don't remember the offset of the wheel but it's half an inch from being flush with the fenders.
255/40/18 would be even tighter. I'm sure someone here has already done it and can answer with details so I'll shut up now.

Hey lcf, I think that's the thread I founded this morning, with a 35-38mm offset it should clear the fender if not I can play with the fender.
Thanks for helping.
