what does this mean???

Okay, I don't want to sound stupid, but I'm new to owning a Maxima and I'm new to this board. Can you all tell me what all the abbreviations are??

for example- this was on the 6th gen board: "Yep...I bought an AE in March of 2001...put 50K+ on it by July of this year so I traded for a '03 TE."

what is an "AE" and what is a "TE". Also tell me any other abbreviations you can think of...thanks for the help.

you might want to try reading some of the stuff here:

https://maxima.org/maxfaqs/index.shtml

one of the topics under general is "What are all of those abbreviations that I often see about Maxima modifications?" There is also a lot of neat stuff to learn in the other areas of the FAQ (frequently asked question) list.

good reading.

Here are a few that I think you'll see quite a bit:

RSB = Rear Sway Bar
FSTB = Front Strut Tower Brace
N/A = naturally aspirated (i.e. not turbo or supercharger)
S/C = supercharger
HID = high intensity discharge headlights (the xenons on the 2002/3)
HLSD = Helical Limited Slip Differential

That's all I can think of this early in the morning, hope it helps.

It sucks that you can't search for AE or TE because they are too short.
