Stillen/Injen/Frankentake ?

I have the Stillen Intake on my car and I have experienced my car shuting off at times. I did take it to Nissan and they said it was that the intake had to be tightened.

My question is this for those with the Injen and Frankentake have you experienced this problem(car shuting off) with these intakes on your car?

Feed back is higly appreciated because i will be looking to change intakes.

Also which intake gives you the most hp.

if the filter isnt tightened down then it could be taking in too much air causing it the car to shut down and sometimes throw an ses. to be honest, i check my berk/franken setup reguarely because it has come loose before at the hose connecting the mid pipe and throttle body. it didnt shut off because the pipe was still inside of the hose but it loose. besides, i dont want to look like blubyu2k2 during his first run at rockingham last time.

as far as which one gives the most power, i like the size of the filter that stillen uses and the velocity stack. im using a k&n rr-3003 with berk hardware and frankencar midpipe. make sure the intake is tight and get a fraken midpipe and youll be happy.

if the filter isnt physically damaged then id keep it and add a franken car midpipe. that should run around 65+shipping, i think. if the filter is black and dirty and you dont feel comfortable cleaning it,(maf problems) then go ahead and get the whole intake. if the filter is in good shape then i wouldnt replace. sorry for using the word so many times in a sentence.

I would recommend the Frankencar over the others. I had the frankencar first then I switched to Injen and my frankencar is back on. When the heatshield comes it'll be even better.

You have a different filter than me. The one I got from Frankencar was different than both! Is that the filter that you got from frankencar?

I kinda have both stillen and frankencar havent had any probelms with the stillen alone of both combined. the stillen intake kinda cuts out the roar of the intake after 5200rpms though, im guessing its due to the velocity stack from the stillen smoothing out the airflow. but never had any problems what so ever with it.

consencious is get the franken car intake but use the stillen (or shall I say K&N) filter. Will that filter still fit or do I have to get a different size.

What about the different color filters?

Just get a Frankencar Midpipe $55. You keep your MAF and Stillen components. Just take of a resonator box. It's held in place by couple of screws and breather lines. Make sure to follow directions and tighten everything before starting the car. I also got 2 small breather filters and replaced a breather line. If you are replacing the intake and have a TB exposed, it would be a good idea to clean the TB. Mine was really dirty.

Hasn't that heat shield been "COMING" for a year, now? I was waiting for the heat shield to come before I purchased, but I couldn't wait anymore...I hope we get a discount on the heat shield when it finally "COMES OUT."

sloppymax, what happened to blubyu2k2's car on his first run? i have an INJEN too and i want to make sure i dont make the same mistake :P

i think your intake decision depends on how you like to drive. i like to accel fast to around the speed limit. i dont to much high speed stuff, so a "CAI" would be better for me. but if you want power at higher speeds, the shorter intake would be better. but i think they are all about the same, provide a little faster throttle response and a nice sound at WOT. i know i love that sound

For those of you who have the Frankencar intake, how long did it took for you to get yours? It has been two weeks now since I ordered the Frankencar intake, still no sign of it. And yes, I emailed the guy and got no reply.

I got dibs on your SC if you plan to install a frankencar intake. BTW vinnieloo my midpipe came a loose from the MAF adapter which caused my car to die at about 30' mark and I could only make it to the 1/8 mark. Imagine getting pushed all the way back to the staging lanes b/c it was closer than pushing to the finish. And Cummy I got my midpipe within a few days if you are serious.

This is from the Frankencar website:
FULL INTAKES INCLUDE: K/N FILTER, 4 HOSE CLAMPS, 2 COUPLERS,1 MIDPIPE, 1 HIGH QUALITY MAF ADAPTER, 1 HIGH GLOSS POWDERCOATED MIDPIPE AND IN SOME APPLICATION A REPLACEMENT BREATHER LINE. WITH THE APEXI FILTERS YOU GET THE FITLER, AN ADDITONAL MAF ADAPTER PLATE TO ACT AS A FLANGE, 1COUPLER AND 2 HOSE CLAMPS

MIDPIPE: 1 HIGH GLOSS POWDERCOATED MIDPIPE, 2 COUPLERS, 4 HOSE CLAMPS

I'm a little confused. Since the A'pexi version is not shipping, I was wondering if the midpipe only includes everything necessary (no mention of maf adapter in the description). Like, if I order the midpipe from frankencar and then the a'pexi filter from overboost, will I have everything I need to install the maf and filter?

no you will need a MAF adapter, the adapter kit for the apexi filter, and an addition coupler.

lol...sorry but I sold the SC already. As a matter of fact, I just shipped it out today. I'm back to NA. I thought you knew? If you're wondering, I did it because of financial reason. Decide to focus on school first and lowering my credit card debt. I'm not going to sell the car just yet. Maybe in a year I will, but more likely I would probably have to wait until I finish school to decide.
