I don't know if this has been covered before, but even if it has I need new data.

I'm curious:

1) What's the fastest you've ever driven?
2) What kind of car was it?
3) How old were you at the time?
4) What's the fastest you've driven your Max?

I'm not concerned if it was track or street, just curious how old the speed demons are.

My fastest was 138 MPH in a Thunderbird Super Coupe. I was about 18 at the time. My Max top end is 110 MPH...I've grown into a punk.

OH, as for Canadian friends, please to the conversion to MPH, Aye? :laugh:

i had 4 people in my car and luggage going back to college and i took it up to 116 and when the girls saw the speedo they screamed, so i couldnt go any faster. but on my way home wednesday you can bet ill go for more because ill be alone.

I came very late from work one night and decided to gun the 2002 maxima SE up to 122-125 for less than 10 seconds. I was 21 and it scared the **** out of me.

That was a one time deal. I won't be doing that again anytime soon.

Fastest in Max = 105+/-

I'd love to wind it up a little faster if even for 10 seconds, but I just havent had a chance... too much traffic here in Eastern Massachusetts.

125 in my 2000 Maxima SE

Both happened on I55 in Chicago on Saturday early mornings. I have to work on saturdays once every month. I drive from the city to the burbs. On Saturdays there is no traffic, no cops. I put at least 110 every time:D

137 in my Max, 140+ in my dads Grand National.

1 ---> 140 mph
2 ---> My brother's 91 Integra RS 2dr coupe (did not have my max at this time)
3 ---> 24 yrs old and 8 months

3.5 -> On the way to Sactown just out of Stockton on 3 lane section of SR-99 one late monday night... Some guys in a riced out Ford Escort was obstructing my 75 mph cruise in the far left lane, so had to move to the middle (they did not want to change lanes).... as I was passing them up, the passenger looked over gazing at me... then the driver decided to mash the go pedal cause he started to reel me in...
so looking ahead and seeing no tailights for at least 2 miles plus, i punched it and lost them in a few seconds and kept on going until I finally looked at the speedo and saw 140 mph...then let off the gas... Did I mention the Integra was bone stock besides the maxspeeds he had on?

4 ---> 130 mph (Always too much traffic when I drive my 2k2 6spd)

Gosh I wish we had something like the Autobahn... (saw a tv program where they got a RUF porshe 911 gt up to 216 mph...it was late night and little or no traffic)

150ish, 1999 Ducati 996. Couple of times but not that often. I hit 130 fairly routinely.

I think I have gone about 110 in my 2K1 Max. Just not as much fun as the bike. But unbelievably stable.

Age wise. I've been doing stupid things like this for the past 15 years.

Location. Interstates and only when empty.

98 Max SE 5 spd. As fast as it would go.

2001 Z06. 145 Mph. Ran out of room.

2000 BMW R1100S - As fast as it would go. Approx 145 mph (real, not indicated) Radar verified top speed is 139 (I have mods, it goes faster now)

2000 Yamaha R1 - Almost as fast as it would go, 165 mph. (real not indicated). Radar verified top speed is 169 mph.

1996 ZX-11 - Indicated 285 kph (177 mph). Probably 165 ish for real. Radar verified top speed is 170 mph.

2001 ZX-12 - Indicated 295 kph (183 mph). Probably 170 ish for real. Radar verified top speed is around 183 mph.

Nice thing about mobikes is that they get there WAY faster.:laugh: I usually hit 125 mph everytime I go out. Cars take a lot longer to get there and you need more room. Much harder to get high speeds without attracting a lot of attention.

I was 24. (Last year ;))

Funny thing is it is my dad's bike. He is 52 and still rides often. He won't let me take any of his machines out by myself, but this particualr instance, we both went out and had taken a small break in the middle of the ride and he suggested that once we reached the highway, I drop to 3rd and hammer it. I did...

There is NO feeling to really descibe those 30 or so seconds of my life. I wouldn't do that kind of thing very often to be sure, but man was it a rush...

The highway was totally empty, it was a clear, warm day and even if I had spalled completely it would have been my ***, no one elses...

4.)132, 2k GXE must have a cut out because I was about 4k on the tach. Last time week while doing 132 my passengers were a little worried because my old 15" snow tires really shouldn't go that fast. That's about the only benefit of living in the sticks.
