Trading up on a lease...Possible?

Hey everybody,

I have a 2k2 Max SE on a 4 year lease. Been in it since April 27th. I have recently seen the new G35 Coupe and fell in love. Even love the G35 sedan. Is it possible to trade in an existing lease for a newer model? Could you just start over on a new lease? Probably not between makers (i.e. Nissan to BMW, but since infiniti IS nissan, I'm wondering and hoping...Anybody know?

Thanks
Lloyd

Anything is possible. All depends on how much of a hit you are willing to take for the G35.

To get out of a lease you litterally have only one way I know of when I tried to break my lease on my BMW 740iL. That is to basically get enough for the payoff and the remaining payments. Which if you add it up will in no way be possible unless you put money in.

Lease's are the hardest things to get out of. If anyone else knows that can help this guy, let us know. I dont think there is a way without taking serious loss.

Yep you can get into a G35 lease but the monthly payments will be high. They will roll what you owe on the max into the G35 lease. Not a very smart move financially unless you have so much $$ it doesn't matter.

Yeah but lets say the rollover is ike 10-15k, they might not do that.

I believe the language in the Lease does allow a buyout. You basically pay off the ramaining value plus a buyout fee and the remaining taxes on the vehicle then you can sell it...basically a costly proposition since you won't be able to sell it for anywhere near what's still owed. Let me know if someone else has bought pout a lease early just to own it. With mortgage rates soooo low I'm curious if I should try and buyout mine.

My experience with renegotiating leases is short and light. I tried to take over a lease from a friend last year and even though I was approved, nissan credit would not allow his name to come off the lease until it matured (exprired). I hear its like buying timeshares. Basically, your two [legal] options already mentioned? Of course, there is always an option of last resort ... but its not exactly legal.
