HELP!!! Got into $11k accident - Need body kit advice (got PICS, need help to post)

I got into an accident Friday night that caused front and rear damage. I gotta replace the front and rear bumpers, trunk lid, rear quarter panel, trunk floor, etc.......

I thought this would be a good time to start thinking about getting a ground kit. I've seen some that replace the whole bumper and others that add-on to the stock bumpers. I was even thinking about putting on a front bumper from a 2k1 so that I can use the Stillen aero front end without mods.

What do you guys think I should do? Can you give me links to companies that make kits for the 2k2?

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Thanks!!!

BTW - I've got pics but don't know how to post it. Any help?

VIS makes a nice kit. That is what I put on my car...but I modified it alot to make it look different. If you are in the Dallas, TX area I ahve a shop that does some out of this world work for a go price.
Custom Maxima has that kit also.

I don't know about the AE kit. I guess I was hoping for something a little more aggressive looking.

I'm looking on the web and the only thing I can find is some kit of kamikaze/kombat bumper replacement kit. All the sites that have kits for the car are all the same. So, it's either this kit, Stillen kit with touring 2k2 front lip or aero 2k1 modified front lip.

BTW, Polo, since my car is out of commission and I'm going to be getting a new drivers' HID, do you think you'll have the demon eyes ready to install soon? I also wanted to clear out the blinker and paint the inside black. My car won't be on the road till probably late January.

Whadaya say????

Sorry, just found the VIS site. It's actually the kit I've found all along. The Kombat/Kamikazee kit. I like the front and sides, but the back is not so hot.

I think..???

Ya...I agree the back is not that hot. I changed it up some. That is the advantage of fiberglass, If you have a good shop they can change it up. I will have some pics up after Christmas. If that will help you decide.

Thanks for your help. It looks pretty good, but I think its not for me. No offense!!!

I guess there is no kit out there besides the stillen touring lip, stillen fascia kit and the VIS kombat kit. I'm really considering modifying a 2k1 stillen aero kit like Ethan did. But who knows!!!

no offense taken =], i dont like it much either, id much rather do the 2k1 conversion... but i believe a kit is a good way to spend 1500..that you can spend on something else..

half way to a supercharger...

Since you need a whole new bumper... you don't really have to modify a Stillen aero lip to fit. You can just get a replacement 2k-2k1 stock bumper and the aero lip would fit perfectly. I don't see any reason why you that wouldn't be possible.

There's only three things I don't like about this plan:

1) Will my 2k2 stock fogs lights fit and mount with the 2k1 front bumper?
2) Will my 2k2 grille fit with the 2k1 bumper?
3) The look of the 2k1 is a little different - opening between fog lights is a little smaller.

Anyone know answers to #1 and #2?

Well, the kit should only cost no more than $800-$900 shipped. My friend who is repairing my car is only charging me $45.00 to paint, modify the 2k1 lip and install the whole kit. Not bad huh?? Besides, no one has a turbo/supercharger for the 2k2's yet. Bummer.

Actually, I inquired about that when I was shopping for a 2K2 and the problem with that is the AE kit would require quite a bit of modification to fit on the '02. Especially around the grille area since the grille on an '02 is larger than the '01.

OK
#1 No, they will not fit the mount that is built in to the bumper cover is different. You might get it in with some mod work.
#2 No, the grill on the 2000-2001 is built in to the bumber cover and the 2002-2003 cover is a seperate piece.

Hope that helps.

So If I buy the 2k1 front bumper, I will get the grill too? And for the fog lights, I guess the easiest would be to buy the 2k1 models.

The thing now is, is all of this extra expense worth it? Or should I just buy the 2k2 model and pay to modify the 2k1 front lip? Hmmmm....

Are your 2k2 fog lights still intact? If they are, modifying a 2k1 aero lip would be cheaper. However, I remember emax95 saying that the lip looks good in pictures, but not in person. The think he said the lip kinda droops down in the center because of lack of support there.

Oh damn! I never heard that. I'll try and email/PM Ethan ASAP to find out the scoops. Thanks for the heads up!!
