poor throttle response

poor throttle response
I have a 2k3 Max with 15K miles on it. I have had a throttle hesitation since day one. The dealership is in denial and says they notice nothing. Any fix or TSB's on this? I also noticed that one of my twin tail pipes doesn't look like it being used. One pipe is black inside the other still shows the galvanized color inside. Any comments? Could the high pressure muffler bypass valve be stuck?

You should try other dealers for your throttle problem. Or maybe your car is just plain slow like all maximas..

So that solves my third problem...

Has anyone heard if the Z's have this problem?

I do not like the "fake" feel of the accelerator.. too much like a spring, and less like a traditional accel. linked to the throttle body. The TL-S has *snap* off the line, as did any other pre-02 maxima that I drove .. hell, the 4th gens have plenty of snap off the line. I really need to mash the gas more than 75% to the floor to drop to 2nd when rolling in 4th at any 4th gear speed, and I need to mash the gas off the line to keep it in 1st long enough to reach at least 5000 rpms...

I would think it would be pretty easy to install an actuall throttle linkage, withouth any ECU ramifications or electronic modifications.
The hesitation is one of the reason's I've decided to stick with my 2k1 for the long haul. I couldn't dealt with delayed throttle response!

I sold my 2k1 auto last summer because of the poor throttle response. Before I bought my current 2k2 6 speed I drove several other cars.
There are definitely others with the same problem. The worst was a 2k2 325i.

Also hesitation is less now with intake.

I was wondering why my TL-S had MUCH better throttle response .. and so it's solved .. the "drive-by-wire" turns out not to be as cool off the line ... seems to be somewhat smarter w/ downshifts on the highway.
i never could get my car to do that snap off the line thing.. My tires would just spin. I'd always wait until second and the cars moving to have fun. I always thought this was because I don't have limited slip.

The stock michelin MXM4's on the Type S are semi-decent for snappy off the line fun .. (hardly in the summers, though).. but outfitted w/ some better tires, the Type S whips you off the line .. doesn't do much more than that .. 1/4-mile times aren't improved much w/ new tires b/c of crazy wheel hop .. seems like that's a problem w/ the Maxima too
