6 Speed conversion on 2k--2k1?

I was wondering how an Altima 02, has a 5 speed manual? Is it the same tranny found on the 2k---2k1 Max?

Which, means that if it is the 6 speed should fit the 2k--2k1 Maximas?

Can someone clarify?

Uhh...why would u wanna do that? The

five-speed is by general concensus a MUCH better tranny than the six-speed..smoother, etc...the rod linkage is ditto MUCH better and it's geared to provde reasonable acceleration in 5th gear with our 3 liter engine.

As it is, the theoretical top speed in 5th is nearly 165mph (6600 rpms) which the car will never attain due to drag, hence it's overgeared today, why overgear it more?

Put the 6-speed with it's very looong top gear ratio on our 3-liter engines (which have substantially less torque than the 3.5 liter mills) and a freaking Saturn will pull on you in top gear unless you start rowing the gear lever like mad...

it would be cheaper to just buy a 2k2/2k3...

don't waste your time and money...
