I need to know how bad Atlanta is with the HIDs theft. I'm going down to ATL on Sunday for new year's week and i'm curious to know how bad ATL is with that. This is sort of urgent since i'm leaving in 2 days. Do i need to invest in the kit from the nissan dealer before i go, or what do you think. I'm real careful about where i park. I'll be staying with family in Gwinett, how bad is that area?

Atlanta is not bad at all for car theft or vandalism comparing to New York where I previously lived.. Gwinette is a really good area to stay you will not have a problem

I guess it really depends on what part of Gwinett you are referring to (very populas county). I haven't heard of any headlights getting ripped around here.

 

Well…I Live here in HOTLANTA. Been her for oh 37 years. I guess that make me a senior member of the forum because of age(smiles). You have nothing to worry about in Gwinnett…but they do have their share of GANG populations because the county is heavily diverse with different races of people.

Here in Atlanta an I'm sure for a lot of other areas, if you put yourself in harms way an hang out with vicious people then crime is what you are going to attract. Since My Maxima is all Black with Black and silver lip wheels I get stopped at red lights and the car does attract attention.

Just don't visit any "Projects" or real areas of infestation, as they say. You'll be fine.

In other words…don't go looking for trouble where ever you go!!

 

As the others have stated, Gwinnett County is relatively safe, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just like anywhere else, I wouldn't *advertise* your arrival into a parking lot of any type.

Word of advice: see if you can talk your family into moving their Mercedes/BMW out of the garage for a few nights so you can put your Max in it...

Have a safe trip and drive carefully. If you're not used to traffic congestion, you better get used to it real quick!

 

I live in gwinnett. Live in a house in a pretty nice neighborhood. Just 2 weeks ago, someone stole my brother's clears off his 4th gen. at my house. Guy i know in Stone Mountain just got his TV's and 22's stolen off his denali. You just never know. But you have nothing to worry about if you're just visiting and gwinnett is pretty safe.
