Another dealer F/U - you guys are going to love this one (long though)
As you can see from my sig, I have a 2k3 Sheer Silver SE...or so I thought. When I bought my car a few months ago, I wanted Sheer Silver and they found me one at a sister dealership. "It's a Sheer Silver SE with 9 miles on it. I'll have them bring it over tonight", my sales guy said.
The car arrives, and I go pick it up around 6 p.m., when the sun is starting to set. Plenty of time to check the paint, which looks good. I'm a happy camper, the car looks great.
Over the weeks, I've thought to myself "Man, the Sheer is a little dark - I'm glad I didn't get the Sterling Mist, 'cuz it must be really dark".
So yesterday I'm filling in some paint chips with Sheer Silver touch-up, and it's the wrong color. I go back to the dealership to tell them, and make them touch it up with the right color since I'd already done it once. They do, but first they check under the hood for the color. He comes back and says, "this is the right color - they gave you Sheer Silver". "Right", I say, "my car is Sheer Silver". "No it's not, I checked - it's Sterling Mist."
WHAT?!? I check the code, and he's right - KT3! So I race home and check my paperwork, and there it is - a 2003 Sterling Mist SE. Doh!! I didn't bother to check the color when I bought it, because we all knew it was supposed to be Sheer Silver, and that's what they told me. It arrived, and was silver, so must be right. Wow...
Anyway, I can't do anything about it because I sure enough signed for a Sterling Mist. And I like the color, so don't really care - but pretty wild to be screwed up like this. You've gotta like it.
Anyway, Happy New Year - time to go drinking (and walking).

Wow, what an interesting story. Did you get a write up of the car they were supposed to be looking for (one that says Sheer Silver)? What about the sticker? Too bad you didn't look at it before signing.
Did you talk to anyone at the dealership (it probably wouldn't do any good)? But it can't hurt.
My first two Maximas were Arctic White, not this pearlescent stuff they use now.
At least you're happy with the color, even though it's not the one you wanted. I wouldn't budge from my color choice, though I did settle for a car without the Meridian package
Always: pay attention to the details!
