Clear Corner/Bumper Lenses - Rate them!

Hi guys,

I would like to get a set of clears (all four) for my '03, and see that there are a few places to buy, all in the same general price range. Now I've already done a search, but don't really see anything that answers my particular question, so here goes:

For those who have purchased them, what can you tell me about

a) order satisfaction (speed of shipping, etc)
b) quality and fit of the parts (I hear the rears can be loose)
c) moisture problems?

I'm mainly looking at procarparts.com, custommaxima.com, and courtesyparts.com.

Any helpful info will be appreciated!

Jack

I ordered clears for my T-bird from procarparts and had a bad experience with them. They leaked from the beginning. Now this clear lense was a corner lense that had a built in reflector - during the assembly process they are fused together. Well on mine there was a little leak that made it constantly fog up.

Every time I'd email them they would suggest I try something new (clean where the bulb socket is seated, etc..). They must be really unorganized over there. The first email I gave them most all my info. 3 weeks later they're like "we need the ebay item number" Then another 2 or 3 weeks - "now we need the part number." VERY ANNOYING. This took so much time that by the time I figured it was a leak (not my fault), they wouldn't take the item back because according to them I've had them too long! Wha???

All they could suggest was to buy another set from them! EFF that!

Not the way to do business in my opinion. They sell sooo much on eBay and that's why they have such a huge rating. Their negatives is a small percentage, but still is a lot.

For this reason alone I will never purchase from them.

I had to purchase a 2nd set of rears from CustomMaxima.com because the first set leaked. Basically all of them will allow moisture inside unless you use RTV clear silicone from PEP Boys or another auto shop. CustomMaxima's customer service and shipping times have been fantastic every time I've purchased stuff from them.

I bought mine from CustomMaxima and I had no leaks at all. The only thing is that the rears did not seem to be diamond cut, the whole rear lights would not light up clear marker just a dot.

Got mine from Custommaxima for Christmas. Pretty much what I expected. I am trying to use red bulbs in the rear, but they look way too pink for me. I have both yellow and red LEDs on order from midnight moose. I also sealed them up with RTV prior to installation.

I got mine off Ebay...front clears were fine, the back fogged up. Silicone fixed the problem. They don't fit as nicely as stock, but they work, and look fine. if you use red bulbs, definitely buy LED bulbs, because otherwise it will look pink. hope that helps...get both front and rear, it helps the look of the car a lot.

Got mine off of EBay. Fronts from genexla I believe, and rears from Procarparts. First guy was great! Procarparts took almost a Month, and Terrible communication.

Won front and back from procarparts on Ebay. Shipping was $10 each set. I e-mailed them asking them to combined shipping cost since I won both and they were going out at once. A week later, they said NO! no combined shipping. Pay $20 to ship 4 clears w/no bulbs. I didnt pay for the ebay auction and they never seem to care anyway.

Most of them are made by the same company. ie: Pro Car parts orders theirs from Custommaxima. A lens is a lens.
