what is the 2k1 topspeed without speed limiter? mine does 133 with limiter. i know a 5spd does 143mph. whats the auto's mph?

You're saying, on a two-mile stretch of road ("nj turnpike exit 8-10"), that you got your car up to 147 mph?

I'm calling b.s.

A 2000 Maxima takes more road than that to get up to those speeds. Even from 80, it has taken me a few miles of road to get my car (2001 SE Auto) to top out. And even then, the car is limited to about 135. Don't know if it's a speed limiter or drag-limited, but there's NO WAY that you took a stock, auto, 00 Max up to almost 150 in less than 2 miles.

 

i just think his speedo is way off.maybe different tire sizes? maybe a max will do i think 138-140 actual mph....... a 2k2 does 147 mph!

 

why does it take our stupid auto 00/01 to get to 140 sooo much time?

you floor the thing for like a full 2 min...and you can go to sleep for an hour and wake up and than you'll see yourself at 140mph

Mine is limited at an indicated 136mph.

 

I have yet to hit any type of limiter, I just run out of road before I get to see what I do top out at. I've hit the 130s at least 6-7 times and 140 once.

I live on exit 8a and take Turnpike almost every day. From exit 8 to 10 there is at least 6 miles, at least. Don't know about auto '00 max, but on my 2000 5spd. i hit 135 plenty of times but never went up. No limiter was kicking in, the car was still accelerating pretty fast and it takes less than 2 minutes to go from 50 to 135, that's for sure. I'll post my speed when i top it.

Your Speedo is way off....You didnt run 146 in a stock auto.

 

Ditto I'm going to agree, you can't do 146mph in a stock 2k-2k1 automatic Maxima. We are saying you can't do it because well, we OWN Maxima's also

 

I've tried on several occaisions to get it past 140 to no avail

my top speed is at around 137-138mph. (at least that's what the speedometer indicated)

 

My top speed in my 2k auto GLE is limited at 129, 130. Your speedometer must be off.

 

i mentioned in the beginning that if my speedometer was off, then fine. i also mentioned my tranny blew up the next week.
i have a 00 SE.
ALSO. i have hit 140 about 6-7 times. so dont tell me dats impossible okay. try it first and then tell me please, with all due respect. im not sure but doesnt gxe and gle have a limiter of like 130 or something?

ummm... new jersey turnpike exits are like 5,6 miles long each so its defly do able in more than 2 miles. and anyway..when ur on hte highway youre already at like 70. 2 miles u cant get up to 135 from 70??gimme a break. i dunno if this is a repost..if it is..sorry
but i doubt 8-10 is only 2 miles.

#3 GXE's, SE's, GLE's all automatics SHOULD have a limiter, but they aren't always awake. I've seen an indicated 137mph in my car before, but so what? Others have gotten theres to read 140mph. My speedo is about reads 1-2mphs higher, even at 40mph, according the the roadside radar guns. Who knows how accurate it is at 137mph. It could very well only be 131mph, right where it suppost to cut off. Having an "SE" doesn't make you an exception to the governor rule

if what they say is true about the speedometer reading higher than it should be okay. thats fine, 146 isn't far from 143 correct?

140+ is defly possible. if you have aftermarket rims..that mite throw off your speedometer too.
