A Garage-mate for my Maxima

I love my Max , but there are alot of things I still wish I had my Toyota for. Maybe I'll get one of these in a year or two. Some details here.

At first I didn't like the body, but now its grown on me. Its about time Nissan made a full-size truck. I don't know if 300 hp is enough, maybe I should wait for the supercharged version.

I think the Titan is really good looking. The pictures on freshalloy.com are much better and more extensive. And 300 ponies is pretty good w/ 375 or so torque to tow a reported 9,xxx lbs.

The pics and overview at Fresh Alloy is much better than Edmunds.

Torque is what makes the truck! The Ford V10 makes only 310hp but has 425 ft-lbs of torque. The Dodge 5.9L inline 6 cylinder (turbo diesel) makes only 250hp but has 460 ft-lbs or torque! The Dodge can tow over 15,550 lbs too..

That Nissan looks ok, but the plain flat sides will look like crap after about 6 months of door dings all along side it..

Ford does not offer the V10 in ther F-150's. The largest engine you can get is their 5.4L V8 which produces 365 ft-lbs. The Titan is going to have at least 375. For a standard full size truck, the Titan will be very good competition for "America's Bestselling Pickup Truck" the F-150. I am not sure how Dodge has their engine options setup, but according to KBB the Ram 1500 doesn't have the Desiel as an option. I don't beleive the Titan is meant to compete with F-250's and Ram2500's.

The Ram 1500 has a late availability of the new 5.7L Hemi (345 hp, 375 ft/lbs as in the 2500).

Yeah it's definitely in place to compete w/ the Toyota Tundra, the Ram 1500, F-150, etc. From what i've read and seen it may be able to. Just depends on people giving it a shot. Most people who go nissan usually stay w/ it.

Problem is, trucks have just gotten outrageously expensive. I would love a big honkin silverado.

Yep, that's why I plan on keeping my '97 and just maintain it. If the engine ever does go, a crate drop in is my next move.
