Eibach and KYB GR2

Finished installing the new suspension on my 2000 SE last week. Went with Eibach ProKit and KYB GR2 struts. First the drop. Although Eibach says 1.3 inches on the front, the drop is actually 1.75 inches. The rear is as stated at 1.0 inches. Little more gap in the front than in the back, but looks much better than the stock SUV look. Both are measured from the top center of the tire to the fender lip. The ride is a good bit firmer, but no bounce, no nose dive on hard stops, but big bumps and pot holes are a lot stiffer. Very smooth on the highway or good roads. Handling is also much improved, almost no body lean on hard curves.

I E-mailed KYB before buying the struts just to make sure of their warranty. Their person replied that the lifetime warranty is good with the ProKit. I will keep a print out of their e-mail just in case it is ever needed.

I hope to post new pics to go along with the old ones on my CarDomain site next week. Think I will take it easy on the mods for a while now. After all, I am a 46 year old kid!

The GR-2s are a direct fit and non-adjustable.

They are more of a stock ride correct? Where as Tokico's are a little more firm?

KYB AGX's, Koni Yellow's and Tokico Illumina's. Neither of which are made specifically for 5th gens. The front struts have to be modified inorder for them to fit.

A little confusion here. The KYB GR2's and the Tok Blues need no modifications to fit, but they are NOT adjustable. They are a direct bolt on to the 5th Gens with no changes to them. To quote Greg's2kGLE concerning the adjustables, "KYB AGX's, Koni Yellow's and Tokico Illumina's. Neither of which are made specifically for 5th gens. The front struts have to be modified inorder for them to fit."

I did not want to go through the extra trouble, expense, and possible voiding warranties, with the adjustables. Plus, I would never adjust them anyway. I'm with you killer2002SE, I did not want the Tok's either. Too many stories of blown struts to scare me off.

No, I have not. But if anyone in Houston has Eibach and the Tok Blue's we could do a comparison and share the info. Anyone have them and willing?
