'04 Maxima Parts!

Just got my '04 Maxima parts disc- I know some of you guys are on the edge of your seat about the intake manifold, I've been looking at that & some other things-

Upper intake- Different#, looks the same to me! $121.94
Lower intake- Different#, looks the same!
Exhaust manifolds- Diff #, looks the same!
All 4 cams- Same part #'s!
Pistons- Diff part #, what's the CR?

Anyway, good food for thought, I was suprised that the upper intake is already priced out-

Yeah, but the guy that's putting it together is about a month behind, it's www.townnorthparts.com. Hopefully he'll get the specials & pics up soon!

This is going to upset Emax. I know he was planning on using the 6th gen intake manifold because of it's better design. He was under the impression that the manifold was composite and DID NOT use a variable design. Can you confirm?

Dave
Dave-
The '04 intake is absolutely variable. In fact the two illustrations look identical. I also can't imagine Nissan selling a composite one for $120! Oh well-

intake manifold

I am almost certain I read from a credible source that Nissan stated it would have a composite intake manifold. How could they change something like that? Also, why would they change the part numbers if they were the same thing?

They just made it up. Just like the difference between the Alti and the Max. 2004 will be a 25HP difference that just can't be accounted for.

Well guys, if you are interested in ordering that intake manifold, you should really get on it and let us know how it goes (Just in case there is a difference)...They are probably going to do the same thing they did with the HID's....they were 600 when they first got released, Nissan relized there error and the next week they were 1400...If I had a 2k2-2k2, I would really jump on this, IMO

Hi DAVEB,

Could you tell us what is different about the exhaust. i.e. is there an H-pipe, does it use the same Y, manifold & precats....
Glad your one of us this is great, EARLY, info...

Thanks,
Adam

Check out the pics on my website. The '04 doesn't have true duals, it's split in the back like the Altima and Hondas.

maximaman777- The '04 y-pipe looks just like a 3.5 Altima, it then splits off into "fake" duals. The exhaust manifolds look just like a '02-'03 Maxima.

MaxDoogie- You've got a point there. I'll order up a manifold, although we usually can't get parts till the cars come out.

If installing a 350z intake manifold in a 2002 maxima goes great, is it possible buying an aftermarket intake system such as injen ?

If so, would I be ordering an injen intake for a max or a 350z ?

Would it even boost the whp adding an aftermarket intake on the 350z intake manifold in a maxima ?

Sorry for asking all these questions, I just had to get it out of my mind, thanks for listening in and keep it up !!
