bottoming out...??

bottoming out...??

did anyone ever bottom out their maxima before..?? any damage..??
how do you know if you bottom out your car....the front of the car...
i don't think i did but i just wanna make sure...

The way cars are built, their not supposed to get dameged when bottomed out, unless of course you were jumping ramps or something, the best way to know if you recieved damage would be to check on a lift for physical damage. You should also check at the strut and shock mounts.

Botoming out is when the suspention hits the bumpstops, you would feel this boom and kind of be shocked but the car would come back up.

it's somthing to avoid, but not to bad, the bump stop is there to keep the strut rod from going to far and killing the strut.

As a FYI, there is a Nissan TSB out for bottoming out of the rear suspension. I believe there was a problem with the rear shocks/struts on some 2k2-2k3 models.

I bottomed out my car over an unseen speedbump that appeared on this road in Maine. It was right before a little bridge, and it scared the **** outta me and my girl, but the Max was no worse for wear.
