Problems accelerating, codes?
Problems accelerating, codes?
I just bought a used 2000 5-sp Max with 68k miles on it. It has one strange problem... when accelerating it does fine until it hits 3,500 RPM, then basically hiccups/stalls and is very reluctant to rev higher within the RPM range....
Anyone has had any similar problems? Ideas where to look?
I was going to check whether there were any diagnostic codes but the set-up seems different from the 4th gen Maxes even though my Haynes Manual tells me that's not the case. Can someone tell me how I extract the codes?
Thanks much for any help you can offer!

Since there is so much electronic "junk" on the car I figured it can't hurt to check the codes. My 1995 never showed anything and then I pulled the codes, which told me that the TPS was on the fritz. It did have a little bit of a hesitation throughout, that's why I checked....

I am scratching the tires like a **** going into 2nd gear now... And this is with 18" and relatively new tires
