Warranty Gold

my 2000 GLE is fast appraoching the 36K mile barrier.

when I bought, I could never imagine needing an extended warranty, but after having the Maxima for nearly 3 years I'm starting to think a warranty might be worth it.

I briefly looked at Nissan Security Plus, it is interesting to see how much stuff they will NOT cover.

I looked on Edmunds - they have a link for a free extended warranty quote - so I sent it and got the info back.

Not sure about this company Warranty Gold (i think I've seen them before). They are reputable, but I'm not sure about this approval process for repairs. I have a feeling mechanics will not like calling them for approval codes.

Just wondering if many of the .org members have extended warraties or have tried companies like Warranty Gold.

I've seen others - not sure how they compare to Nissan, but probably aren't that far off.

err, I got it on both Maxima and Pathfinder (Nissan Gold Plus whatever). I cant get much fixed under the regular warranty, the extended really much of the same treatment. There are no red carpets to rolled out for you. They basically extend the same treatment you got up to 36k :/ enticing, isnt it

Yeah, I have the same warranty and it's amazing how they sell you on it. They show you everything it does cover and unfold this huge pamphlet then knock off a 1/4 percent on the loan rate. I got it for the electrical stuff. I am not too worried about the engine....knock on wood.

I bought a Warranty Gold extended warranty...

...for my Expedition, and have used it several times. The process is that when a problem is identified, the shop calls it in, and an approval/denial decision is made immediately. If approved, a VISA charge authorization is given at the same time, so the shop gets paid right away. Neither the dealers nor the independent shops I've had perform work on the truck have had a problem, nor have I had coverage denied. As one dealer service person commented, "We'll call it in, and I don't know about these guys, but most extended warranty places won't pay." Well, they did, and they've now paid out about the same amount I paid for the coverage (which was the best deal out there for the truck; don't know about the Max.) I highly reccommend Warranty Gold. (and no, I'm not connected to them in any way; I'm just a consumer.)

Good luck,

I too can recomend Warranty Gold. My friends daughter took her Dodge Stratus to the Dodge dealer where it was diagnosed with a broken flywheel and also the rear window defogger was not working and required replacement of the rear window. Warranty Gold Authorized both repairs along with a one day car rental. Total $$ paid by WG was $1300.
