Can Maxima be fun again
Can Maxima be fun again
all .org members,
Recently I've been overwhlemed with many of the problems most of you have had with your 5th gen Maxima.
I have a 2000 GLE - completely stock. I do not drive it real hard and I just recently starting putting a lot of miles on it. 1st year i only drove like 6K, but this year I put on 18K.
I'm really down on the car right now, but I'm hoping after some of these TSBs get fixed it will be mostly reliable.
However, right now I just don't like driving it because when I get in it I just keep listening for more problems.
Any suggestions on how to make my Maxima fun to drive again?
I've been thinking about some mods - also I think I'm going to have my car professionally detailed to give it that new car feel again.
Looking for ideas

yeah, you need some mods.
Get an intake, y-pipe, UDP, and maybe some lighter wheels also if budget permits, and then go stomp on some Honda's and you'll feel much better

I drove my sisters Jetta for a week and I totally fell in love with my car all over again!
I agree with the other answers about driving a different car for a while. I rented a Buick when I was in LA for a week. Also, a Malibu while my front bumper was getting fixed. What a pleasure to get back in my Max! Mods help the fun quotient. Then every once in a while, I just gotta stand on the accelerator. That makes it fun again. Just my opinion. BTW, my car is pretty trouble free so far and I have a good service dept.
