Dash lights not working
Dash lights not working
I installed a cd deck in my car today, and everything seemed to go well until the sun set and I realized I couldn't see my speedometer! I've checked all the connects behind the radio where it connects to my wiring harness, and double-checked to see if all the plastic connectors were in tight, and they were, and yet still no lights. I also looked in the fuse panel and practically checked every fuse to make sure none were blown. Any ideas?!

Ok, the orange wires say 'illumination' on them, but what are they supposed to be hooked up to? All the other colors are being used...

Not connecting it would not be a problem, the problem would be if you connected the wrong wire (like a power wire) to the factory wire for dim control. I'm speaking from cars in general but I'm 95% sure that the Max had a dimmer when I installed my stereo in it.
Yeah, miswiring may be the culprit. I soldered mine when I did it, but I guess I managed to get em right. Check the harness and make sure you didn't accidentally disconnect anything when you were pulling and pushing. That happens a lot too

It is the taillamp fuse. It controls the illumination once he shorted it out, he shorted out the taillamp fuse.
