'03 compass mirror trade

Any '03 owners who don't like the compass in the mirror? Want to trade? I want one in my '02, but I'm not going to pay the outrageous price Nissan wants for it.

Yeah I'll trade my 02 for a 03 plus I'll even throw in $20 bucks. Come on now, I'm getting the butt end of this deal.

It's for an Altima...will it fit the Maxima? Is there any special wiring? Or does it have everything contained in th mirror housing?

You think that's outrageous? I paid $230 or so for a Donnelly mirror for my DOdGe Grand Caravan. I think Donnelly actually makes a lot of mirrors for manufacturers who put them in their vehicles as OE. See http://www.rpminnovations.com/rearview_mirrors.htm for a pic of a Donnelly mirror and go to http://www.donnelly.com/products/int...ms/default.asp to see some other nice mirros Donnelly makes.

which models come with a compass? I have a 2003 GLE with Meridian and I can swear I don't have one. Gotta go check tho, since I'm away at college and only drive my 3000GT around.

originally i thought all 2k3s came with it. but you could be right. if you are right (that you dont have one) then i think maybe they only come on the Titanium Edition SEs.

From what I've seen in the 02 Max brochure, the 03 compass mirror is not part of any package, so I wouldn't say you got ripped off. And besides, you drive a 3000GT, how much more do you want?

3000GT's look nice, but unless u have the VR4, which I don't, they're pretty slow. Only 222HP for a 3400 lb car. I went off the line the other day with a V6 mustang, and almost lost because of the major torque steer. I did mess up the shifting a lil bit, but still, I should've been a lot easier.

This is incorrect. I just purchased a 2003 SE with the Titanium Package and it comes with the compass.

I think we are referring to when you say you 'got' it, you were 'given' it by Mom and Dad.

NO ONE I know of, at 17 yrs old, can afford a $35k+ car.

I just got the 3000GT about 6 months ago, and that thing has a horrible resale value, so I only had to pay about $8,000. Also, I had a decent paying internship this past summer, and with some money already in the bank, it was easy to get the 3000GT. The Max is mostly my mom's, but I contribute quite a bit. She drives her Camry most of the time, so the 2003 Max is just chillin in the garage. And since u wanted to know, I'm a 4th yr senior (actually graduating on time), in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Davis. I'm 21, don't pay for EVERYTHING myself, but I am also not some spoiled rich kid that gets everything handed to me. So dude, get ur panties out of ur *** and stop being a ***** about it (jk ). My roommate has a choice of 6 cars to choose from whenever he goes home. I'll consider that a lil spoiled, since the cars include a 740i, ML430, Z06, Lightning, and a couple others I can't think of.

relax there young fella, way to throw that 4th year senior thing in there...I graduated in 4 years too...I think we're supposed to...oh...Electrical Engineering degree. I was just questioning how a student would be able to afford those two cars, and I was pretty accurate in my assumption that you didn't/aren't paying for both cars, because algebraiclly...its impossible, glad to see some parents make their kids work for stuff...oh...well..enjoy both cars..

I always thought a 3000GT was rear drive. Surprising to learn that it's not.

I just threw in the 4 year thing cuz it seems like a lot of people nowadays like to take thier time. Then there are those schools like the University of Virginia where like 81% of grades given out are A's and B's. Just something I read randomly somewhere. But yea, 3000GT VR4's are AWD, all other models just look pretty. I have myself a base model, so I don't even have leather seats, and had to add a cd changer myself. But, since I'm leaving super far from campus (a lot cheaper rent), I'm just grateful to have a car. Just wish parking permits didn't cost so dang much.
