Hey Gang,
It's me again... newbie in SF
Want to upgrade my brakes... was wondering what you all recommend? The Brembo kit? Or other brand?
If I intend to go fast, need to stop fast too!

I believe you have a couple of choices: (a) big brake kit (b) after-market, drilled or slotted rotors, through Stillen (Brembo makes the core, Stillen drills or slots them).

The only performance oriented after-markets pads, for non-big brake kits I know of, are Axxis pads.

I could be wrong.

Hey, Got Rice?! (<- parts guy) Do you know of other options?

SFMax20SE: I'm from SF too!

Stillen rotors or pads have 4th gen specs. If you install both the pads and rotors together, Stillen said there would be no problems. If you install either one, then I don't know what would happen. Our rotors are thicker than the 4th gen rotors...

Does anyone know the prices/places to buy the stillen cross-drilled rotors (front and rear), I'm thinking of getting them an I want to know my options?

Cheapest prices I've seen are from Avalon Racing, but you might want to check with Got Rice? to see how much he's charging also. Don't buy directly from Stillen because it's way more expensive.

Last I've heard, the rotors and pads were on back order...

60 - 0 is going to be the same no matter which brakes you use - the first few stops. Fancy brakes will only help if you are in a situation where you might overheat the stock brakes under repeated use. As long as the brakes have enough stopping power to lock the wheels and activate the ABS the tires will be the main limiting factor. The real racers who use drilled rotors primarily do so for weight savings, not cooling. The penalty is pad wear (hold your pad against a cheese grater) and premature rotor cracking. The slots are to remove the boundary layer of molten and vaporized pad material for better grip under severe use.
