Has anyone looked into this? I only have 1700 miles on these god-awful, horrible excuses for tires... i'm thinking I'd take $50.00 a tires w/o question .. think I have a chance?

hehehe....I just got $300 for mine on Ebay. They only had 1,000 miles on them, but they were 2 1/2 years old. The guy who bought them said he and his wife loved them.

Shipping is easy, too. Tape them up in pairs like TireRack does, and off to UPS. Cost me about $30 from NJ to upstate NY (oh, and the buyer paid that, too).

I hung on to them to put back on the car if I was going to return it at the end of the lease, but that's not going to happen. I've got a kid going to college in 2 years, and I figure it's time to own a car again for a change. I love the Max, so it'll be mine come May.

TireRack doesn't even package the tires they send you in any way. They just use lots of shipping tape to strap on the receipt and the shipping label to the bare tire and send it out to you. Talk about cost cutting!

Yeah, and it does not help how UPS handles them. The one time I bought from them I ordered 4 265/75 16 TRUCK tires. Two of them showed up with the belts actually bent to the point that the tread was visibly bent. Like a freaking forklift backed over them.

UPS is highly overrated...try to request alternate carrier.

I've been buying tires from TireRack for years and have never had a problem with the tires being shipped that way. I've got wheels and tires coming this week, but they box those up individually.
