I'm going to make a trip out to my local Infiniti dealer tomorrow and give the new 2K3.5 G35 6-MT a run... However, I'm a bit afraid of what I might do. I can't "really" afford one, but ya never know. I hope I don't fall in love. Plus, the manual comes with a $1500 break for not getting the automatic. What a sweet deal...

Prepare to fall in love...I'm telling you, that car is really fun, comfortable, fast, and just plain sweet looking.

Hi,

I agree... the G35 looks great, except for one thing. Is it me or does it look considerably smaller than the max?

Nope, Pouting is no fun... The G35 6-MT can be Just don't let anyone talk you into anything you aren't ready for, like buying a new G35.

if you can't afford it, why drive it? If all it's going to do is get your hopes up then don't bother. Wait until you can afford it, then if it's still the car you want, go for it.

until then, let's have some maxima discussions

I made the mistake of driving one about a month ago. I reall wanted to buy it. Started considering doing stuff that was financially stupid to get the car. Ultimately regained my senses. And yes, the G is a lot smaller car.

Unless you are ready to buy don't drive it. When I test drove the Coupe I was ready to buy on the spot. But the bath I would of took on the trade-in was not worth it. I think to get my payments to 650-700 per month they were asking for $8000 or $9000 down. I don't remember the exact figures but it was some crazy amount.

650-700 a month! I also looked at the G35 sedan before i bought my 02 Max. although it is a beautiful car, its a max with rear wheel drive for 5-6K more. I couldnt justify it. Not to mention, nissan always discounts the max, so thats what i got!

no, its the same as the one in the Z...has a more mechanical feel, and I think you are actually shifting the gears (not with a cable like FWD cars)

the maxima uses a cable linkage and feels a bit more "rubbery"

I could be wrong.

can anyone else explain this better?

well, they won't feel the same, because of the linkage used, but they might be the same despite the linkage...i dunno....but they WON'T feel the same.

No. The shifter in the G35 is completely different. It has the same transmission as the Z. Much shorter throws and a closer ratio. I like it A LOT more than the row boat in the Maxima.

I thought the manual tranny was only on the G35 Coupe? Has Nissan come to its senses and put the manual on the sedan?

I hope so, my 95 Max is getting ready to retire, and my next car is going to be RIGHT wheel drive.

I am glad my Max is getting Maxed out.

I drove one yesterday in at Crest in Dallas, you 6spd 02/03 ers donot have much to worry about in straight line. It didnt seem/wasnt any quicker straightline than than the 02 manual I tested last year with similiar miles although the handling was great. It was Black on Black good looking car!

Dude just go drive the hell out of the thing, I did and **** ill take it over the max anyday now. The low end torque is something my max doesnt have but the anoying thing with any car I drive that has ***** is that u get used to the power really quick, within 5-10 min and it feels normal again, thats when u want more power....

it was always the plan to eventually offer the 6 speed in the sedan...they just wanted to make us wait.
