SSR Competition on 5th gen

Anyone have the SSR Competition SML wheels on their 5th gen? Comments and/or complaints?

http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=279597&page=6

What do you think?

Take a look at MichaelAE's setup. I was going to order a set as well on 3/5, but I've decided to use the money for other modifications. At 16.09lbs per 18x8.5 rim, you can't go wrong with them

Looks nice! I almost missed the fact that its photoshopped. Go for it. The lighter weight will be nicer too.

I was going to order them myself, but was concerned about how easily the car burns rubber with the stock wheels - will it burn them easier with the lighter wheels, thus hurting 1/4-mile times?

I had a 4th gen with a 3.125 supercharger and it was no easier or harder to 'burn out' in the car. The lighter weight really doesn't affect traction as much as you think it would. It helps with the handling and such.

I all in all didn't notice much of a change, but I think they look killer.

Good looking out! His set-up is phat! The only thing is Tirerack only offers the 17"x7.5" in silver as opposed to the 18" I want and the gun metal ones won't look good on with my Sunlit color.

The Competitions look great on the Max. They ride great, no complaints at all even with the 40mm sidewall on the tire. The new silver version looks good, but I like the not-quite-Gunmetal color better on my Gray Max. I imagine that, if you hold off, more sizes of the silver version will come out. Tire Rack just started carrying those late last year. The Anathracite ones have been around for almost two years.

The pictures on my cardomain site are with 235 S-03's wrapped around them...they look even better with the 255 Pilot's I've got on now.

Good luck.

I love these rims and decided a while back that when the craptenzas are worn out that these were the ones I was going to get. I'm into the symmetrical look of 6,8&10 spoke rims but I think 6 is best. I'd like to get these in 17x8's and put 245 40 or 45s on'em. In this size they run about 15lbs. with rubber they sould weigh 25-28lbs.
How does gunmetal look with Sterling Mist?
