random technology cat. conver.

hey has anyone replaced their factory cat.converter for the random technology one as yet? If so hows the performance? thanks in advance

random tech cat convert.

did you just replaced the converter or did you have a cat back installed also.Well guess i'll save my $180.Hey custom maxima also sells a racing straight pipe ,thought you won't pass ur emissions test it's street legal. $79.

To the best of my knowledge, there is NO SUCH THING as a street-legal modification that removes a catalytic convertor. You may want to check your facts before you put that premise to the test, gtbigup.

I agree with y2kse. Failing your emissions test would = not street legal.

I have the RT Cat with no problems and no significant performance gains (not on the butt dyno anyway). I do remember noticing a slightly more pleasant rumble out of the exhaust after the RT Cat. I might have just been hearing things though.

I think the RT Cat is legal because it has all of the elements of a catalytic converter.

You are, however, not allowed to mess with anything before the cat.....could be wrong though.

gtbigup- I had a Y pipe and catback before I switched cats. I felt nothing. Of course, I felt nothing from the catback either.

it is possible that some mods give gains although u cannot feel it, i feel the udp is that way, but if the random tech doesnt produce anything shame on custom maxima for false advertising
