Tok front and AGX rear

Does anyone have this strut shock setup??? Im wanting to do this setup but i cant decide what springs to go with. I dont want a ride that is way to bouncy and not way to harsh. I know changing to new shocks and spring WILL make the ride harsher but i dont want bouncy, like on a friend of mines GCs. If anyof you guys have the tok agx combo please post what the ride is like... Any help is appreciated.

I wont mix struts. the lowest setting on the AGX is still stiffer than that of the tokicos. so the front will always be softer than the back (bouncier) and it makes the ride funny.

AGX with H&R seems to be a good combo
Eibach might have problem fitting onto rear AGX strut. Deven2k uses 4th gen Eibach rear spring to have a better fit.

for more info. try a searh on my name and Deven2k. we had a long chat on this topic. I wanted to mix struts before and it was not recommanded. I now have Koni and eibach.

no problem. The ride quality with Koni and Eibach is acceptable for me. It's a bit stiff but I dont have any problem with that. Brand new konis are ranged from $450 - 520. (that's for 4th gen applicationg, 5th gen is coming out soon) where the AGX is around $380. I will recommand AGX....I choose Koni because I already bought the eibach.

i was use to the stiff suspension on my svt i had this shouldnt be any different, i may just go agx all around, now what springs do i want...lol. Im thinking H&R but i dont want my rear sagging, maxspeeds are cheap, eibachs are stiff, GCs way to stiff.

<~can't make up mind

Progress? Its not too stiff, nor do they sag. Or sprint, they're suppost to be stiff but people around here say its near stock ride but they do have stock struts. Im personally leaning toward the AGX/Progress combo. ASU174 has that combo and the ride in his car isnt too bad at all.

I have this setup..>

I running the exact setup that your talking about and love it. I'm on H&R springs and that's seems to be the spring that will give you a close to factory ride but without the bounce. I've been on this setup for close to 20,000 miles. I choose the Tokico fronts because Cattman was talking so long to getting the KYBs modified.

So I was sick of the car bouncing and decided to run Tokico front struts for $90ea and the rears are KYB adjustables(set on #2) for $80 and the H&Rs were around $220. So for my complete setup I was looking at $600 shipped and the car had a nice 1.5" drop to boot. Tokico rears shocks are the worst so after talking to Cattman and finding out that they don't alter the 4th gen KYBs it was a done deal. The Cattman modified shocks are about $145ea(I think). Saved over $100 bucks by doing this and maybe more because I didn't have to buy the 4th gen mounts.

MaxSpeed springs sag and Eibach are very firm.

Good luck on your choice.

not sure about the front spring.
the 4th gen rear springs fit better with the AGX perch of the rear strut. 5th gen rear eibach is a little narrow and it doesnt sit into the perch of AGX all the way. This may cause alignment problem.

Cattman modified the front AGX to fit with 5th gen and they use H&R spring to test it. The car weight will force the H&R spring sit into the perch. But they didnt test it on eibach and Deven2k just had a bad time with eibach and rear AGX struts.

Progress will cost u about $50-60 less then H&R and will drop the car about .2-.3" more then the H&R will while still giving u a decent ride (I personally like it) I dont however have anything against the H&R setup, it just doesnt drop the car as much from what I know, costs more and ive heard the car rides near stock but have not driven a car with the H&R. Its ur call man, im leaning toward the Progress setup.

hmmm...how come you are getting 5th gen spring for your 4th gen?

the part no. is different.

Progress has the same spring for both 4th and 5th gen.

Where are you planning on getting your GR2s? I'm planning on ordering these sometime early this week. Did you choose Eibach over Maxspeed because of the warranty and name? They both lower the same and I think Maxspeeds are slightly softer plus the $100 difference. I'm planning on getting Maxspeeds with the GR2s. Are you using your factory dustboots or are you buying new ones and where are you getting these from?

Thanks

Im ordering the GR2s from tirerack 95 each for the fronts and 59 each for the rears. Im sticking withthe eibachs mainly because of the warranty. and Ill proly just use my dust boots that are already on the car, there still in good condition.
