Got stuck in ice ... need help!

So I live on a slight hill, got home late last night and with the shortage of spots on the block I had to park the main street facing upward a slight hill. What I didnt realize was I was on rock solid ice and wouldnt be able to get the car out in the morning. So it took nearly 90 minutes to get the car out today. I burned lots of rubber and spun the wheel like crazy on "D" "2" & "1". When I finally got the car out, its real sluggish, major slipping from 1 to 2 then from 2 to 3. I got on the highway and it seems I cant get the car to go past 65. When press harder on the pedal I get high revs and going up to 5000/5500 RPM still barely moving towards 70. When I exited the highway at the first light I powered off the car and restarted then got a flashing "O/D" which was ON. It went away shortly after but car still seemed the same. I had to take the train to come to work but thinking did I f#ck up something trying to force it out of that ice, burning rubbers and flooring it on 1. Any thoughts? (sorry for the long post)

Tranny issues to me.
You should never burn that kind of rubber trying to get out of a spot. Only makes it worse.

sounds like you might have overloaded the tranny with the high rpms in the same gear spinning around on the ice. It sounds like its slipping and won't catch onto the O/D gear (4th). Take it in to the dealer under the powertrain warranty.

Oh shootz! thats already tranny #2. I had the tranny swapped at 47K miles or so cause the car suddenly just decided to stop going in reverse. I am at 57K now and will have to go back before I hit 60K. Damn, I am already thinking of trading it in for a G35! Coupe, of course--

Well I mean its not the cars or the transmissions fault, not trying to insult you or anything but quite honestly man, why would you rev floor it in first. It's real bad for the transmission by flooring the car without the car moving. Plus you were switching gears you probably did a lot of damage considering the fact that you were doing it for 90 minutes. You should be more careful why didn't you just get some salt and put it on, or try to break the ice with something (i.e, shovel?). Flooring the car in any gear in snow when the car isn't moving hurts the transmission very badly .

Also, if you're stuck like that, you absolutely do no good whatsoever, under any circumstances, spinning your wheels. All you do is polish the ice underneath you, and make it harder to get out.

Put some icemelt near the tires, try to break the ice up with a shovel, pick, even a screwdriver.

Rock the car, shifting gently from drive to reverse and back, with the momentum of the car. As soon as the wheels start to spin, get off the gas, and change gear and GENTLY gently apply the gas again.

Get some dirt, and spread it on the ground.

READ up on how to get unstuck.

Sounds like you tore up your tranny doing that. I remember back when I had my auto I did the same thing. Revved up high in 1stgear to get out of the snow. I'm boosted so when I revved up that high I boosted a lil as well. Which doesn't help in this situation. As soon as I got out I lost 1stgear. So I turned of my car turned it back on and o/d light was flashing but 1stgear came back. Car drove normal after that, but not too long later my tranny blew. Only had 2gear and reverse. CEL popped on and everything... But I got a 5spd since then and things have been great

I wasnt actually doing for 90 mins in a row. I didnt have any salt to try and melt the ice. I did have a huge friday the 13th ice axe and i used it to break the ice but still nothing. I actually floored (almost) on D then I tried on 1st to try rocking the car. So I drove it today and getting MAJOR slipping from 1st gear (which was already the case now made worse). I am getting 3000 RPM before it shifts to second and up to 5000 before it goes into 4th. I mean I can already smell the tranny about to blow. Since I am 57K, I might as well take it to the dealer then once its fixed. I need something else. This will just not do! Yes, I know its my fault

Yes, take it in and say it just started doing it. BUT DON'T offer up your story of what REALLY happened. That would be "abuse" in their eyes. Should be covered. Good luck.
