Aftermarket Shift ***** on 2k2....fitment....

with the 2k2's and 2k3's, we have that thingy thingy we gotta lift so that the car goes in reverse. can we still put an aftermarket shift ****. is it a screw on as well or is it a bracket that goes on the shifter and hte **** attaches to the bracket? thanx guys.

You should be able to replace the ****, provided you can find one as short as the stock ****. I've taken mine off many times. The "thingy thing" as you put it is part of the shift lever itself, not the ****.

i know...but i figure the issue would be finding a **** that went far enough to reach the "thingy thingy"
i know quite a few ***** that are pretty small. question is whether they'll actually look nice on the car. then again, our **** doesn't look half bad, so why even bother.
thanx anyway man

I have yet to find a **** that will replace ours. There was someone one here who was going to machine some up for us out of aluminum, but it must have fallen through. If you find anything cool, let us all know.

When my friend picked up his 2k2 last month, he called me frantic saying "How do I put the car in reverse? I'm about to hit a snow bank!"

What an idiot! Me and my other friend got a good laugh out of it.

He doesn't deserve a Max

I just recently purchased a Momo Cobra Black Leather/Aluminum Shift **** from a GD. I am going to try to put it on this weekend. It is about the same size of the OEM ****. I'll let you guys know how it fits.

True, but you are not supposed to keep you hands on the shift *** at all. If mine were heated, I would never let it go!

I would be interested in an aluminum one (perhaps to match the AE and HLSD pedals?).

Momo Cobra Shift **** for 2K2 manual

I just completed installing a Momo Cobra Shift **** on my 2K2 6 speed.
I had to make a little modification to the "Reverse Lockout Ring" in order to install it. I had to trim about 3/8 of an inch off the top of the ring so that it would work. Looks great!
Sorry, no pics.. Damn, wish I had a digital camera.

What about an Infiniti I35 shift **** - would those fit on a Maxima? (for an Automatic of course)....
